Remarks

1)Sikh minority college.70%seats reserved for sikhs. So i got reservation seat here.2) Near to my house so less travel time.3) My brother passed out of this same college 2years back and hence i became familior with environment here even before joining.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is IPU based.For theory, 1seasional exam of 30marks usually after one month of start of semester. 10marks of internal which includes assignment+attendence. One end term exam of 75marks. For practicals 40internal marks+60external marks. Yes regular seminars are conducted and leader from various companies are invited to tell the students about industrial demand. Faculty is excellent here.

Placement Experience

Placement depends entirely on the students ability. Even an IIT cannot provide you placement if you don't have skills. Some good companies visit here for recruitment like infosys, tcs,adobe,cisco,hp etc. Package offered are avg due to the low level of skills in the students. My brother got selected in infosys as a software developer. If you have. Contacts with alumni, they will definitely help you in job referrals.

College Events

One annual fest called GATES is conducted where big famous punjabi singers perform. Sharry Maan, Gurdas Maan, Diljit dosanjh, dilpreet dhillon,ninja,guri,mankirat aulakh have all performed here so you can imagine the level of the fest and the crowd. Different hackathons are regularly organized. All socities are active and conduct various events regularly.

Campus Life

Small campus of of only 5 acre but all required facilities are available. No proper sports ground but we have sports team of all major sports. Indoor game facility available such as table tennis, carrom. The space between the buildings serves as a part time ground. NO wifi. Library ia huge, air-conditioned and has all the required books. Labs have all the needes equipments

Since it is open learning university..they couldn't give us time.. because the class also got started 1 month before exam...and teachers had to finish...the syllabus. But they don't really care about us. And syllabus I think is okay .. in Commerce. It is updated.

In each sem we have to give exams twice - mid terms and end terms. They are not much difficult the level is moderate. Teaching method is also good bit sometimes they are not able to complete the syllabus

Course curriculum are good but need some improvement.there is 3 subject in 1st year and 3 subject in 2nd year and only 2 subject in 3rd year and 11 subject in last 4th year so last year very tough.we need some more subject in 3rd year even 1st and 2nd year so we got some less headache in final year.

Honest review of Pros and Cons of DCAC

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral).My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Placement Experience:

There was no such provision of jobs or fixed placements however there was a placement cell which was quite active and hence there were opportunities for placements by contacting the cell and placement fairs were also organised that were open for all, but not many opportunities were given. The companies that took candidates were economic times, TOI etc paying a very basic fresher stipend of 10-15k. Very few students actually got to know about these placement drives hence the placements weren't great also not many companies came on campus.

I applied to all the colleges that come under GGSIPU and in the 1st round I got HMR and in the 2nd round of IPU counselling I got this college and then I booked this seat and got my seat allotment letter after paying 60000 for the required seat allotment fees! I chose this college over HMR because HMR is very far away from my home and this college is still nearer as compared to HMR As I said I applied to all the GGSIPU colleges but I got HMR is first round which is very far away from my college so I didnt chose it.
