Remarks :

The teachers should be well trained. Canteen facilities should be improved. Exams should not be kept at the end of every month. Digital teaching should be implemented.

Entrance Preview :

Exam i had given was GCET Goa common entrance test. There was ranking system based on merit. College is good for Computer Engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is totally outdated. We are still learning c and c++ when the latest language such as java and android are out. Also some subject are there that do not concern to the course.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship was provided by a start-up company Sandbox which provided a course on meteor a web development platform. There was no stipend provided but we got certificates as proof of completion of the course.

Placement Experience :

A lot of companies such as Wipro,TCS,Seimense,etc visited our college. Over 60 students from computer department were placed. While others from other departments were placed too.

College Events :

Technical Event conducted is "Techyon" where all the technical skills are put to the extreme. Events such as Robo wars,Line follower,coding,etc take place. Cultural Event is "Mithya" where all the departments battle it out for the trophy every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees is the highest among all the engineering colleges in Goa. Ranging from 45,000 per semester from the 1st year to 60,000 per semester in the final year.

Hostel Facilities :

The college does not have hostel facility. On the other hand the mess/canteen food is disgraceful with the menu being the same everyday with poor quality of food.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Exam Structure :

The exam structure is the worst where exams are conducted at the end of every month. This is a headache as this does not give the students rest and time to complete their assignments etc.

Faculty :

The faculty is good although they are not that well versed in the subject that they are teaching. They make a good effort to teach us. Practical sessions and extra hours are taken to help us.

The truth about the GOA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

Placement Experience:

The placement at my college are decent. Students from Computer and IT department easily get placed at a company. The companies that frequently visit Goa engineering college are persistent, one shield, Infosys, tcs , Wipro etc . Each year there are around 300 offers received in the entire college. The highest package a student has got is 15lakhs per annum from TurtleShell. The average package is 6 LPA. Around 50% od the students get placed. I wish to work at a product based tech company after my graduation.

Visiting the interiors!

Placement Experience:

Final students are eligible for placements. Companies such as turtle mint, findem, Nokia, IFB, Samsung, Adani power, HDFC Bank, Tesco, Upskill, ONGC, Jio, and many more. Last year almost everyone got placed. Average package is 10 LPA. This year though placements were not as expected because of economic depression. Even after the placements, lay offs have become common. Hence to cope up with the competition we need to keep upskilling.

Entrance Preview:

Wrote all the main exams like IIT Mains and Advanced and BITSAT and Kerala engineering exam. Main - 222/360, Advanced - 155/something BITSAT - 316/420.

Placement Experience:

Take off campus placement unless your in Computer Science branch. You will get AVG pay of 4 lakhs per year if your lucky. If your in computer science the AVG pay is 6 lakhs.
