Remarks :
College management is good. This is a good place to come and study Mba if you are a fresher.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Courses pretty much follow the curriculum as followed by leading management institutes. The department is especially good in analytics and me having spent time has helped me a lot in making use of the concepts learnt in class. Frequent interactions with industry professionals are arranged and there is a mandatory internship to be undertaken by the students that help them to prepare for the actual work environment
Placement Experience :
90 percent of the students got placed and 100 percent internship opportunities was provided. 40 to 45 different companies came for recruitment. There is a healthy connect with the alumni where in mentor ship programs are arranged for the students that help them to skill up and be ready to face the job interviews. When I had been a part of the college many of high profile psu companies used to visit to fill in the managerial vacancies
College Events :
Festember, which is held in September every year is a well known cultural festival which is attended by students from all over India. Every year some celebrity also attends and enthralls the students. Pragyan is a technical festival that is also held every year. NITTFEST is intra college festival where all the departments participate and compete on various extra curricular activities. The management studies department also conducts yearly symposiums inviting eminent faculties and industry leaders to enlighten the students.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Since this is a central government institute the fee is very subsidised. I had to spend a total of 1 lakh rupees for 6 trimesters and this fee was inclusive of the Internet charges, mess and hostel fees. There are no additional fees to be paid. The fee needs to be paid on a half yearly basis. There is a clear break down of all the components for which the fee is collected.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I had not opted for any loan. If required it should be easy to get a loan as this is a central government funded institute and the fee structure is low and securing an admission itself is not that easy.
Campus Life :
The campus is very good equipped with all state of art facilities. The computer labs when I was staying could seat 500 members at one go. The library facility is enormous. You get to need people from all over India and can also make friends easily. All the festivals are equally celebrated. In relation to the gender ratio, I could say it was like 70 percent males and 30 percent females. In our department we used to have ice breaking parties with the seniors at the start of the academic year and also a farewell hosted by the juniors to the seniors when they are leaving the institute
Hostel Facilities :
Yes, I had opted and stayed in the hostel. The room had to be shared with one more person. Yearly fees for the hostel was 4000 and the mess fees had to be paid quarterly and it was 2500 rupees. In the room each student is provided with a table, chair, cot and a cupboard. Water cooler facility is available and a warden also stays in each hostel.
Alumni/Alumna :
The alumni network is very active and everyone is ready to come in and lend a helping hand. Many of the internships and final placements happen due to active collaboration with the alumni. They also help in boosting the skills and take part in mentor ship and skill building sessions
Admission :
Got selected on basis of interview. Interview invite was given on the basis of score obtained in CAT exam conducted by the IIMs. Two rounds of interview was conducted and merit list was posted. Decision to join needs to be conveyed and the fee needs to be paid before a set date to confirm admission
Faculty :
All the professors and assistant professors were well qualified and many of them had doctorates and had published papers in national and international journals. Some were part of eminent companies and took part in designing the learning and leadership programs. They also had in depth knowledge of the subjects they were teaching and were always ready to clarify the doubts in the minds of the students
