Remarks :
It's a fine college. The students are a mixed bad. The management is poor.
Course Curriculum Overview :
It's very demanding and hectic. While it sure helped in learning computer science, it also ate into my free time a lot. I do get to do a lot of practical work for core computer science topics, but the amount of assignments is huge and the time isn't alway enough
Placement Experience :
Most of the good companies visit our campus. I think the placements are really good. Probably the best thing about the college.
College Events :
There are three annual events held in our college. First is the cultural fest known as effervescence. We do have many famous celebrities holding concerts each year. It's not huge, primarily because of the lower number of students and the location, but it's still a respectable fest. Second is the technical fest known a Aparoksha. Third is the sports fest Asmita
Fee Structure And Facilities :
It's somewhat reasonable for an engineering degree. The payments are done using netbanking or NEFT. The SCs/STs are charged no tuition fees. The college does provide transparency in the fee breakdown. I think it's even lesser than the NITs. So I'm somewhat satisfied.
Campus Life :
Campus life is lacking due to the low number of students we have. The gender ratio isn't great either. I think it's 6:1 or something. Extracurriculars are a disappointment. The sports facilities too. The labs are great too. In fact the infrastructure of the academic buildings is really good.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes. The hostels aren't very good. They are barely fine. But I've seen worse. The newest of the hostels doesn't look like a building constructed in 2015. It doesn't have many facilities. But the older ones are even worse. They need a paint job desperately.
Alumni/Alumna :
Seniors are fine. I haven't had any contact with the alumni. So I'd say it's not very good. But they are there in our circles and we can contact them through social media.
Admission :
I gave the joint entrance exam mains by CBSE first. I got a rank of around 4000. I also attempted the Jee advanced by IIT but I couldn't get into a good computer science course. Hence I chose this college. The counselling process for colleges is undertaken by JoSAA. After that, there was the college's own admission process. I chose information technology because it was very similar to computer science and I love CS. I chose this college because the placements were good.
Faculty :
I don't think the faculty is very good. They might get the job done but only if I bring my expectations way down. Also it's not much of a problem for those who seek good jobs since the grades and a teacher's help doesn't matter much then. But for research, this college needs a lot better faculty.
