Student's Review On Girijananda Chowdhury Institute Of Management & Technology - [GIMT], Guwahati

Remarks :

Because it is near to my city and my sister suggested about it to me. I like about their strict laws in our institute. I opted the course because i want to be a civil engineer, it was my aim from the beginning.

Course Curriculum Overview :

ImThe sallybus is uptodate. No, we were not provided industrial exposure, not yet. After 6th sem we are provided industrial exposure, and im just about to complete 6th sem. The faculties are good, Alakesh Deka was a good faculty.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, i have. It was for a month, we had to visit the site where a bridge construction was going on. Also visited a site where tiles were being layed on the pavement. in PWD. It was unpaid

Placement Experience :

The placement is not that good but a good number of company visits us. The placement process is done in 2steps. One, the take an aptitude test, the ones who qualify can seat for the interview whis is a second step. No alumni notable from our batch. No.

College Events :

The technical fest is pretty good, many people across the country comes to participate in it. Our institute helds a cultural fest every year in the month of feb/mar. Various artists are invited to perform. They also holds competitions like dancing, singing, etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes, i have availed for Ishan Uday. The institute also provides scholarship for top performers. They also provide waiver for students with very good results. I dont know about the loan availability as i have not taken it.

Campus Life :

I must say that sports facilities are good, there is also sports day though there is no much indoor games, the wifi isnt that good, it is not speed and sometimes doecnt connect at all. The equipments in labs are limited.

Hostel Facilities :

Yes, i have opted for one. The hostel rooms are quite good but the mess isnt that good. There is no wifi in the hostel. In case there are no seats left, there are many pg's just near to the institution. The average rentals are around 5000. It is very easy to avail the hostel facility provided there are seats.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've been enthusiastic about exploring more about software and programming which influenced me to choose the course of Computer Science Engineering. With further development of artificial intelligence, it opens up better learning and job opportunities for students. In my university, computer science is taught by experienced teachers and faculty but it would be better if they were more inclusive of certain topics which are extremely important for the students and raising the level of teaching including practical learning and understanding and also examining the student's capability is one of the aspects to be included.

Placement Experience:

To be honest, placements were dissapointing however it is getting better day by day. The major hindrance is the location factor but TnP cell works very hard to bring companies and to provide students with equal opportunities.
