Remarks :
College management is very good and they respond to all our queries and try to help us in as many ways as possible.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is well rounded, with a good balance between academics as well as industry. We also have industry tie-ups so that we can understand the demands of the industry and not just study without knowing it's applications in our daily life. Also, the college arranges for industrial visits as well and eminent personalities of their respective fields are invited in order of mould us into professionals after graduating from the college.
Placement Experience :
The placement of the college is very good. This year, around 400 companies came for on-campus recruitment, having a diversity from core companies to software and R&D. Internships are also promoted by the college, which in turn sometimes provides pre placement offers to the students as well.
College Events :
The college has quite a few fests, Spardha being the largest sports fest in the country, and Kashiyatra, which is the cultural fest. The fest garners huge crowds, both from the students in the IIT as well as from BHU. Students participate in various events, and celebrated artists are invited to perform in the cultural fest as well.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee Structure is quite feasible, and all fees are to be paid online through the SBI e-banking system. Fee receipts are provided each semester, showing the breakdown of the fees. No additional fees are charged while securing admission to the course.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college provides several scholarships to the under privileged students, as well as to the meritorious students for funding their education. I did not avail the scholarship, but the average scholarship amount is 10000 per month.
Campus Life :
The college has a good gender ratio, around 1 girl for every 2 boys. We have several clubs, ranging from robotics to photography to debate to music and fine arts. Student participation is excellent and the club's conduct events all year long in order to keep the students involved and motivated.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes, I have opted for hostel. Hostels are on a twin sharing basis. Basic amenities are good enough, with the washrooms being clean and properly maintained and the mess facilities being decent. Hostel seats are sufficient, however, PG facilities are also available surrounding the college.
Alumni/Alumna :
Alumni network is huge, and they visit us from time to time and share their experiences as well. College seniors are also very helpful and they guide us constantly.
Admission :
The first process of admission was to have qualified in GATE. Thereafter, students were shortlisted and a written test was conducted. Around 500 people were shortlisted for the test out of which around 40 qualified finally. The quality of research in my field is very high at this institute, which was a prime factor for me while deciding to join. Also, inputs from seniors about the faculty members and their motivation inspired me to select this college for pursuing my Post Graduation.
Faculty :
The faculty experience is very diverse with respect to their field of research. We have faculties researching in almost all the domains of metallurgy as well as material science. Also, a few faculties have prior industrial experience as well, helping us to relate the course work according to the demands of the industry as well as academia.
