Remarks :

Overall its a good college. But problem is with location its located in north guwahati region which is good as well as not good.

Course Curriculum Overview :

In my opinion the course structure is relevant and will help those student who pursue in research, but for those who aren't in research and are interested in any other activity suffers. Moreover location of college is a little undeveloped region therefore pursuing your activity may cost you a lot, no help is given by college other than clubs

Placement Experience :

Google step. Oracle, uber, Facebook, jp morgan, flipkart, and many more these are the highlited companies and offer jobs in coding sector. For core companies are bajaj, mahindra itc and many more.

College Events :

Alcheringa the cultural fest. Techniche the technical fest Udgam entrepreneur summit. Techvince Chalchitra Alcheringa is the biggest cultural fest of North East. And hold the average footfall of 1lakh people. Techniche : the technical fest of IIT G

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It depends on your parents annual income if income is less than 1lpa its around 30000 per semester and is its greater than 1lpa its around 1.30 lakh per semester. No no any additional fees collected No it doesn't provide transparency in fee breakdown

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

No i didn't opt for any scholarship and education loan. Yes college offer scholarship, and education loan like IITG has mcm scholarship for sc and st. But for general category there is no scholarship

Campus Life :

After girl reservation in 2018 girl ratio started to increase, in batch of 2017 there was no girl in my branch but in 2018 14 girls were present. In 2019 batch 18 girls. Yeah there are many social, technical and cultural club present they are not gender based anyone can join them. Similar is with sports anyone can pursue in any sports. And go to Inter IIT sports meet

Hostel Facilities :

By getting the college of IIT, they automatically provide a hostel and room in it. In iitg there are 13 hostels 11 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel. Mine is Lohit boys hostel and its 1 person/room. They take about 15000 for hostel maintenance.

External Expense : Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni are great they help in guiding your path thourough college. Our college has SAIL which is student alumni netwok but its not active.

Admission :

From starting mechanics fascinated me so i pursued in mechanical engineering. JEE Advanced and JEE mains helps in getting admission in IIT and NITs. After result i.e you are qualified you have to go for counselling which is online in that you get a college after that you can opt according to your convenience and rank.

Faculty :

Yeah they're good. In my course there are around 62 professors. Everyone of them is qualified and there's no doubt in that as they are selected by IIT. For every area there are different professor assigned, they have greatly dealt with that area and most of them have done P.hd for the same.

NIT Silchar - Honest Review

Placement Experience:

The placements of this college were very good until last year but last year due to decline in tech jobs and the burst of the IT boom , the placements have declined to a significant amount and there is no hope of recovery anytime soon . As far as I have learned from my seniors, placements are not very satisfactory.

Entrance Preview:

IIT-JEE 2016 , AIR 6629 , IIT guwahati is a college. It has its name and fame. So i chose it because it has all the facilities like co curricular and has a beautiful campus to stay at.

Placement Experience:

The placement and job opportunities in the campus placements are good as most of the graduates get a decent job before leaving the campus . The jobs offered are mainly in the non core sectors as the craze to do core jobs has tremendously went down in last few years.
