It's a pretty decent college post the vision 2020 updates

Remarks :

The campus has definitely improved a lot since I joined because of the expansion project. From new hostels to academic building to new research facilities. Everything is on the rise and definitely commendable.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is well structured, Although some courses require update. Especially, there is a big problem of dealing with demand in certain courses like DSA where the PR system works. Basically, you can opt for any course, but due to heavy demand, sometimes random allotment of priority takes place which leaves a lot to be desired for those who couldn't get the course.

Placement Experience :

Definitely the best part about bits brand tag is the placements which are at par with the old iits. Although I cannot disclose the placement stats due to policies, but one thing for sure, if not IITs, Bits is the only college that can compete head on with the placements with the old IITs. College does provide internships and their stipends are pretty well standard throughout the country. You can find the stats on quora, but sadly cannot disclose them out here.

College Events :

From top cultural fests to techno to sports. Bits pilani hosts some of the most brilliant fests in the southern part of the country. From Indian artists to international djs, most fests have a wide array of line up. The fest would rank in top 10 in the country both in reach and their budget, and the crowd is north of 4k from outside participation apart from the college strength of roughly 2k. Overall the fests are definitely among the best part about college life out here.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It is definitely expensive as it's a private college. But one thing for sure, it's non for profit unlike other colleges and rest assured, your money is utilised wisely with well return on investment. The average comes out to be roughly 2 lakhs per semester with the tuition fees being the maximum at roughly 1. 7 lakhs. And rest for mess and hostel and other miscellaneous.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Admission into bits provides you with best loans possible in the country at par with iim loans. Bits also provides MCN and Merit scholarships to those who need it based on need or merit. Roughly 20% of the students on campus benefit from this.

Campus Life :

The gender ratio is definitely skewed because of lack of girl participation in many cases and further reservation in IITs. Bits has no reservations policy. Campus hosts various workshops regularly and has a wide array of depts, roughly 50+ clubs and depts actively function on campus. The campus is pretty broad minded and because it's an expensive college, you'll find many rich students out here but at the same time, there are even students from poor background relying on the MCN and loans and to be frank sufficient help is provided.

Hostel Facilities :

Definitely the best part about bits, you get double sharing rooms in the first year and among the best rooms you'll ever find. The avg rentals is about 10k per sem included in fees and it's completely residential, so you can't stay off campus.

Alumni/Alumna :

Bits Alumni is among the strongest network with well established networks in different cities across the world from the campuses. Bits holds regular meets and alumni constantly engage with the students in various ways. The best part about alumni is their guidance and referal into various places through linkedin. You can ping any senior and they'll never even hesitate to help you until you are sorted.

Admission :

The main mode of selection is through bitsat. It's an All india completely computerized exam test based on which the admissions are given as per cutoff scores. Although only one state topper from each state is also given admission, but this is not valid in certain states like Kerala, where there are many state toppers.

Faculty :

Similar to IITs, there are faculties who are definitely interested, and there are faculties who we don't know why exist in the college. All serve their purpose. You'll find teachers from Standford and will also find teachers from local college. One thing for sure, every faculty is different with their own perspective, but yes due to vision 2020, more faculties are being recruited on a constant basis.

Placement Experience:

Final students are eligible for placements. Companies such as turtle mint, findem, Nokia, IFB, Samsung, Adani power, HDFC Bank, Tesco, Upskill, ONGC, Jio, and many more. Last year almost everyone got placed. Average package is 10 LPA. This year though placements were not as expected because of economic depression. Even after the placements, lay offs have become common. Hence to cope up with the competition we need to keep upskilling.

Placement Experience:

IIT Goa offers campus placements to its students. Students become eligible for campus placements in their final year of study, i.e., in the 7th or 8th semester. Several reputed companies visit IIT Goa for campus placements, including Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, IBM, Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro, Adani Power, etc. Higher placements offer is of 1.2cr and average placement offers are16-25 lac per annum. The percentage of students getting placed during campus placements at IIT Goa is quite high, with around 90% of students getting placed every year. The remaining students generally opt for higher studies or pursue entrepreneurship. In case no campus placement is offered, students can explore other options for employability, such as applying for jobs through job portals, professional networking sites, or by directly contacting companies. They can also consider pursuing higher education or research in their field of interest or starting their own business.
