I have a few friends from both NIT Trichy and CEG and here is what I gathered from my conversations with them.
In terms of ranking, NIT Trichy is placed higher than CEG. This is because NIT admits students based on JEE Mains ranking and CEG admits students based on board marks.
In terms of placements, NIT Trichy would be way ahead of CEG. The college enjoys a better reputation and big firms come for placements.
For ECE, then recruiting companies visiting the on-campus placements at NIT Trichy are Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, SanDisk, Nvidia, etc. The average CTC offered is 6 LPA.
You can also go for higher education if you have a good GPA and great projects.
The faculty team is overall good. A few of them are extremely knowledgeable and conduct high-quality research. In terms of facilities, NIT Trichy has an edge over CEG.
Since CEG is in Chennai, there are other sources of enjoyment but NIT Trichy is 20 km away from Trichy.
Overall, NIT Trichy will be a better choice than CEG.
