The university often provides several days for candidates to complete their MTech admission process.
This year, the online registration for MTech admission started on May 1, 2024. Candidates can appear in the LPUNEST exam between May 6 to May 28, 2024, with the last date of application being May 31, 2024. Candidates can apply for the exam up to 3 days before the exam date.
Applying for MTech courses at LPU is pretty straightforward. My friend completed his MTech in Biotechnology from LPU and according to him, the admission process is very easy and hassle-free. Firstly, candidates should make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria set by different MTech courses according to the specialisation. They may also have to appear in entrance exams like LPUNEST, CUET or GATE. The general steps are as follows.
Apart from traditional MTech specialisations, LPU also offers specialised MTech courses in fields like AI and machine learning. I have listed the top MTech specialisations offered by LPU below.

Both these colleges have their own pros and cons.
Here are some important points for you to consider-
Based on these points, I would suggest you choose IIT Tirupati over IIT Dharwad. But you should first consult some seniors from the Mechanical department of both these colleges to know about the academics and faculty at each.
Congrats on getting an IIT for your M.Tech CSE.
As for IIT Tirupati, even though it started its M.Tech intake only a few years ago, it offers decent placements for M.Tech CSE. During 2022, the M.Tech CSE branch of IIT Tirupati recorded an average package of 16 LPA. Moreover, all 8 registered students were successfully placed from the campus. IIT Tirupati carries the prestigious ‘IIT tag’ which will be beneficial for your placement. But most importantly, your skillset will get you placed.
If your rank is not that good and you aren’t sure about IIT Tirupati, you can try for IIT Dhanbad, BHU or Guwahati in the spot rounds. You can even try for admission into a good NIT.
I can never stop suggesting people join ISI Kolkata by any means. It’s a magical place for math lovers and has given birth to many world-renowned Mathematicians. Even the offered SERC at IISc cannot be compared to ISI.
Whenever you are choosing a college or even a branch, the best way to determine the best option is to check the faculty profiles. People who choose colleges solely on the basis of placements realize the true scenario to be way different than expected and end up regretting their decision. So, don’t aim for becoming successful only, rather become talented and skilled enough that success seeks you on its own. Stop focusing on placements, focus on other major things, and good placements will be well on your way!
