The official JEE Main 2025 exam dates have been released by the National Testing Agency which is NTA. It was mentioned that the examination will be conducted twice a year in January and April. Candidates can sit only for the January examination, the April examination, or both; depending on their desire or necessity.
JEE Main 2025 will be scheduled for January 22 to 31, 2025 for the first session. It started its registration on the 28th of October 2024 and the last date to apply is the 22nd of November 2024. Elections forums urge candidates to complete their registrations within the said time to enable them to avoid any additional charges. The JEE Main 2025 will be held in two sessions: that is, the January session and the April session. The exact exam dates and key timelines for both sessions are as follows:
Session 1: January 2025
- Exam Dates: January 22 to January 31, 2025.
- Registration Period: October 28, 2024, to November 22, 2024.
- Admit Card Download: Three days before the exam date (i.e., mid-January 2025).
- Result Declaration: February 12, 2025.
Session 2: April 2025
- Exam Dates: April 1 to April 8, 2025.

Important Details on Registration and Application
To sit for JEE Main 2025 exams, a candidate must fill out the form from the official website of the exam which is jeemain.nta.nic.in. It involves account creation, personal and educational information submission, documents, pictures, and fee payment. After registration, the applicants may also make some corrections to the forms during a particular window that will be announced later.

Further, NTA has released the revised application fee of JEE Main 2025 which is slightly different for each category and gender.
JEE Main 2025 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme
The JEE Main exam will consist of three distinct papers:
- Paper 1 (BTech/BE) – The first paper will be based on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with both multiple-choice and numerical value questions.
- Paper 2 (B.Arch) - The exam is split into three: Mathematics, an Aptitude test, and a Drawing test, and is called Paper 2A (BArch).
- Paper 2B (BPlanning) – Mathematics, An aptitude test, and questions based on Planning.
While Paper 1 will be delivered in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) assessment, Paper 2A and Paper 2B sections will include both the CBT and Pen-and-Paper modes.

Admission and Eligibility
To qualify for admission to prestigious institutions like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs, candidates need to clear JEE Main and secure a place in the top 2,50,000 scorers. According the official data, published by NTA, a net sum of 14,76,557 candidates were recorded to have registered in JEE Main 2024. Out of these only 14,15,110 candidates appeared for the exam. The eligibility for admissions are:
- To sit in JEE Main, there is no compulsion to score 75% in class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination.
- But, to be eligible for JoSAA counseling you need to score either 75% in class 12
OR
You must be in the top 20 percentile of your state board.
- If the candidate belongs to any reserved category then they are required to score a minimum of 65% in the qualifying examination to get admission in institutions like IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.

Application Fee Details
The application fees for JEE Main 2025 depend on the category and also the number of papers they wish to appear. For example, men who apply for the BTech paper have to pay INR 1000 while women are charged INR 800. This will cost a little more than the Paper 2 fees.
