Dr. Ashok is presently working as Professor and Dean in VIT Business School, VIT University, Vellore. He did his Post Graduation in Science at Loyola College, Chennai, and followed, his ‘Master degree in Business Administration from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. His Master of Philosophy is from the Madurai Kamaraj University, whereas, he completed his Doctoral degree in Management from Pondicherry University in 2004.
His major areas of Interest are Marketing and Entrepreneurship. He is having totally twenty-five years of experience in teaching and Research.
He has his professional membership with Madras Management Association, Madras Productivity Council, Advertising Club, Chennai, and National Network of Entrepreneurship.
As part of his consultancy work, he had coordinated with VIT- Technology Business Incubator and United National Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) consultancy training program for 12 weeks on ‘Youth Entrepreneurship Skills Development Initiatives’ (YES-DI) program to International Participants from African countries with the total budget of INR 19,00,000.
He had received the ‘Best teacher Award’ for the year 2005 – 06 and ‘Year Wise Researcher Award’, since, 2010 till now from VIT University for his publication work.

Experience in the education industry
My experience in education is encouraging one. It is considered as a noble profession and helping citizens to get empowerment in both thinking and doing. In recent times, learning through doing is more powerful. Education is considered as a lifelong marathon race, where there is no ending part to visualize. The Education system needs to make students as learners’ innovators, professionals, scholars, researchers, and trainers.
Induction of new students in VIT Business School
In VIT Business school we will conduct the induction program for 10 days. During the course of induction, we will schedule the ice breaking session, Industry orientation guest lecture, field visits, bridging courses in case study analyses, statistical analysis, short filmmaking and skill development programs.
Growth of students through placement opportunities available at VIT B-School
VITBS is known for placements, all those students successfully completed their courses with minimum 6.50 CGPA will register under the Placement and training center (PAT). Initially, PAT will give them orientation and schedule the list of companies visiting VIT. Students will be subjected to register for companies on schedule after attending the pre-placement talk. VIT BS will encourage students’ placement both at campus and non-campus mode of participation.

Curriculum at VIT B-School
VIT Business school curriculum is presently following the trimester pattern. Our academic program is designed with 40 percent supportive curriculum for Applied Learning (CAL) i.e. students learn through doing real projects. MBA Program is well supported by dual specialization, credit transfer options to foreign universities, option to participate in a domestic/ foreign internship (four weeks duration) and final trimester capstone project.
We are presently demonstrating Unique Selling Proposition of our VIT Business school operations by employing and adopting a sets of digital tools for our day-to-day operations like biometric attendance for students and faculty, Wi-Fi facility for classrooms, smart board fixed classrooms, virtual labs and library operations, digital books, online materials, business supportive e-Business line newspapers as students learning materials with the support of inbuilt V TOP 'Learning Management System' (LMS) and finally, conducting exams in electronic tablets using stylish pen with cloud storage process.
Our future is more on a dynamic trend on one hand and uncertain on the other. To balance both we need to adapt ourselves to the growing demands of technology and adapt it too. 'Our future is turning digital; let us adopt and negotiate for future India'.
Teachers training of faculty at VIT Business School
VIT Business School is well supported by 30 full-time faculty members, adjunct professors and visiting professors. Majority of our faculty members are doctorates from reputed institutions. They will be regularly attending or be conducting the value-added programs like seminars, workshop, conferences, and faculty development training on various emerging fields of their interest. Besides, our VIT Academic staff college also supports for conducting and attending several such value-added programs at regular intervals.
