Dr. Ujwala Bendale is the Dean of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune. She has a Masters in Law from Pune University and a Doctorate in Philosophy of Law. She has been a research guide at BVDU since 2010 guiding 8 students out of which 4 are Ph.D. awardees under her guidance. She has 31 publications in various National and International journals. She has organized, attended, and co-ordinated various workshops and seminars at BVDU. To mention significant recent one is, in collaboration with CIPAM (DPIIT) Ministry of Commerce and Industry, India and has delivered lectures on Significance and Impact of IPR at various institutions of BVDU

How does the curriculum of your University ensure the best practice of industry?

Our University ensures training the students practically undertaking following activities for students i.e.

  • International and National Moot Competitions. 
  • Conferences, workshops, MUNs. 
  • Students volunteering in various cells such as Legal Aid, Research, Environment, Madhyastha(ADR), and Artificial Intelligence. 

What are your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students?

“To motivate students to be optimistic, dedicated and ready to do hard work to bring in social change”

My responsibilities towards the University and the students are to Engender Best lawyers, advocates, and Judges as best Human beings. They must have moral and ethical values.

‘Social Transformation through Dynamic Education’ is the main object of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University since its inception. My vision includes deploying all best practices in the curriculum and equipping the students, teachers, and staff with ICT.
