Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW) is the first Medical College in the country that offers free medical education to five top-ranked girl students. The institute provides the Dr. Anandi Gopal Scholarship to 5 Girl Students who top the NEET Merit List and are allotted and admitted to the MBBS Programme at the college each year.
The entire academic fees for such awardees for all the years of the MBBS program will be waived off and their fees will be covered under the terms and conditions of the Dr. Anandi Gopal Scholarship Scheme. The hostel, mess, and other fees will not be covered under the SMCW Pune Scholarship.

- Campus is in a good location greenary around with good views sunset and sunrise. All basic amenties are within campus a gym , basketball football court library ,reading rooms , salon ,grocery store.
- Professors are highly qualified and many are from armed forces

- Its a womens only college can be downside for some .

Admission is through mcc counselling Its a private medical college . They have 10 or 20 seats for NRI too . Admission process was easy . Cut off goes pretty high it was i guess 522 for my batch not sure tho .

- The infrastructure and faculty is pretty good.The faculty in each department is well qualified and optimum quantity above the ones prescribed
- Academically its great and provides great opportunities for research.Extra curricular opportunities are also great beyond academics
Dislikes
- Its an all girls college, which is kind of a disadvantage in alot of ways.
- It’s relatively a new college, its still in its initial phase.No batch has passed out yet.
Admission:
The admissions are done according to the merit list of the NEET exam held every year in the month of may. Anyone who has passed 12th can give this exam. The application forms are usually released 3 monthes prior to exam. There are reservation benefits for SC,ST,OBC etc.

- The faculties are very approachable and helpful.
- The hostel rooms are fabulous and the infrastructure is just wow.
Dislikes
- As it is said that no food is better than your mom's food thus the food of our hostel mess is not that nice and tasty. Though it contains all the nutritional value but it still lacks some taste.
- The main problem I faced is about the transport since the college is little far away from the main city.
Admission:
The admission process includes the main entrance exam I e. NEET. The eligibility criteria for admission is that the student should be a girl as it is a women college, she had passed both 10th and 12th having course of PCB and has qualified NEET. Admission was done via MCC portal only. There only reservation for NRI students.

- The faculties of each department is very good.They try to implement new ways to make lecture interesting.
- Campus is also placed at a very beautiful location, but somewhat far from main city.
Dislikes
- The college doesn't provide enough holidays. Sometimes it's gets exhausting.
- The college is very strict regarding attendance.
Admission:
The college has high cut off as compared to other college which got established around the same time. For 2023, in the 2nd round of neet counseling, the cut off was over 600 marks. The college doesn't offers any reservations, it has just general and NRI category.

- The campus is amazing , it is situated amidst the hill ranges .the vallies appears as heaven during monsoon.
- Apart from infrastructure the academics of college is amazing we are provided in hand practical experience .

- Nothing much like the mess food could be little better.

Eligibility is that you have passed the neet exam....then you get in the college on the basis of ur neet merit . The nmc conducts the counseling for the admissions in which they release the admission form and you have to fill the choices of colleges pan India after that results come and if you are able to get into the college then after that the procedure starts and college will assist you for the same
Likes
- The college campus is beautiful with eye catching infrastructure and pretty weather. The aesthetics of college and it's situation makes it a tremendously beautiful place to opt for. The classrooms, halls, auditorium, hospital etc is very spacious.
- Teachers and faculty is well qualified and doctors are very helpful and teach you in a way as if you are going to become a professional. We are taught professionalism along with the curriculum.
Dislikes
- Mess food for sure was a dislike for me but again it is edible and no place can match the food cooked by your mother. Quality of mess food is good but taste is an issue. But again the food is edible definitely
- Hostel rooms are not air conditioned. This is a drawback but again Pune experiences summer for more or less two or three months so it is manageable as rest of the time we don't need air conditioners as such.
Admission:
Admission in all medical colleges in India takes place by NEET-UG exam which is conducted by NTA every year in the month of May. NEET-UG exam is a hard one to crack but definetly not that hard to take admission in any deemed medical college. Cut offs soleley depend on competition during counselling. Last year the cutoff was 541 and this year the cutoff is expected to jump to 560 due to increasing competition. If you clear the cutoff and get admission during counselling conducted by NTA, then admission is a very smooth process as college takes care of every nook and hook of swift admissions

- There is no cons of the college the overall output of the college is good

But the cut off of the entrance exam was a problem. Reservation benefits were not applicable for our college. The entrance exam is conducted once in a year and the difficulty level is very high

For qualifying for NEET, students have to score a minimum of 50 percentile for UR (unreserved) and 40 percentile for SC (scheduled castes)/ST(scheduled tribes)/OBC (other backward class) category. The final cut-offs will be decided after counseling.
