Prof. (Dr.) K.C. Prasad is the Director of the Education Department at Sai Nath University. He is a double (MA), M.Ed., NET, Ph.D. and has more than 24 years of teaching experience and since April 2021, he has been serving this pioneer institution. Earlier he was the Principal of the Education department, later he was promoted to the post of Director of Education Department (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences) and along with this, he is also the head of the Disciplinary Committee of Sai Nath University.

You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

Actually, teaching is a very noble profession and I love teaching because teaching is my passion and teachers are the highly respected people of society and this is the key factor that keeps me connected with the education sector. Earlier when I was in school, I served in many institutions of Jharkhand, and I was also in DAV Group and DPS Group. After that, I was associated with one of the pioneer institutions of B.Ed. in Jharkhand, where I served approx. 12 years and after that, I am here. It is going to be approx. three years in the Sai Nath family. So, I am fortunate enough that I have had the privilege to work under the leadership of our honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. S.P. Agarwal Sir, and I am trying my level best to provide maximum to my students as well as for my university and what is the best possible from my end, I am always ready for my university.

Being the director of the education department, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

So many things are there, being the director of the education department, my priority is, as you know that my university is a student-friendly university which is one of the essential factors and here in a democratic way I would like to just provide some valuable teaching to my students and my staff members and to inculcate some valuable ideas so that the best practices should be adopted and through the proper communication and the honesty, education should be provided to the students. I think that if all students attend their classes regularly and being the director, I am always ready for my department, certainly our students will success in their life. Every time I used to motivate my faculty members that what’s the best is possible from your end, you just provide to your student and make your student just perfect to come up to your expectations and certainly they make you feel proud.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the institute and the students are?

Being the director, I’m the head of the faculty of education. Earlier when I was the principal, I had some responsibility but here I have more responsibility, the Vice Chancellor Sir has trusted me that’s why he promoted me. So, I really think that today, just as you know, it is a pride moment for every individual when a teacher is known by the name of their students. So many of our students are here, those who are very much capable enough and I am always ready for my staff, for my students so that they can do their best. Actually, you can say that, in every step of life, we are with our students, if they will touch the zenith, certainly this will add feathers in the cap of Sai Nath University.

What do you see as SAI NATH UNIVERSITY’s greatest strengths?

Actually, our strength is our faculty members, and our university is a student-friendly university. Everywhere and at every step, we are with our students and what is the best is possible from our end, we are always ready for them. So many of our students are mind-blowing, so we feel proud to have such a time with the talented students. You will be surprised to know that, in a program when some G20 members visited Jharkhand, two students from my department, Viprance Mansoor and Md. Gulam, from our university have leaded and guided the G20 Members. It has added a feather to the cap of Sai Nath University. We really do feel very proud that our students are talented ones and behind them the strength was our faculty members.

What do you think should be the university’s top priority over the next 10 years?

We know that this time is the survival of fittest. Every time we try our level best to provide the maximum to our students. One thing I would like to say that we are a single private university having NCC unit because there is not any private university having NCC unit and we are the 1st private university in Jharkhand as well as in Bihar to have BA, BSC, B.Ed. as well as B.Ed.- M.Ed. integrated courses, so we are pioneer in this field. No university has such a kind of course, so in the next coming 10 years we will launch so many programs, so many certificate courses for the benefit of our students so they can shine in the sky, and with their name we will be known to others.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for SAI NATH UNIVERSITY specifically?

As you know this is the time of the survival of the fittest. So many universities are here, so this is a challenging time for all of us and we are Sai Nath family, so we are such a kind of family who like to accept all types of challenges. Under the able leadership of our honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. S.P. Agarwal Sir, and our Chancellor Dr. C.P. Agarwal Sir, we are trying our level best to pose a big threat to the others because you will surprised to know, that some of my students especially of the law department, two times they have selected in the judiciary service and some of my students has also selected in the Sainik School, Tilaiya. So many other students, those who are working in some schools and colleges, are also in the job. So, it is a matter of pride to be one part of the Sai Nath family. We have a very nice placement department led by Prof. Dr. Birendra Goswami Sir, Subodh Sinha Sir, and Abhishek Kumar. These guys are doing their best and so many students have been placed as per their capacity in different sectors. If your students get placed in other fields, then it is a matter of pride and it can pose a big threat to others. During the time of the survival of the fittest, we have to present ourselves in such a way so that every individual who is watching from the outside of the university, should be compelled to realize that this university is distinct, we have a lavish infrastructure, having a very calm and peaceful environment where all-round development of a student as well as faculty member is possible.

We have a learned faculty dean in our different departments, we have capable heads, and we all work under one banner which is Sai Nath University, and this is our biggest strength at every moment that we all are one, we get support from our Honorable Chancellor sir, Honorable Vice Chancellor Sir. Every time by the effort of our honorable VC sir, so many legends, judges, IAS and IPS and other political leaders have come to our university and appreciated our efforts. So, this is the big thing that, if other people appreciate you then this is a matter of pride, and it strengthens us to perform our best.

What would you like people to know about your institute they may not know?

As I told you earlier our university is a single private university having an NCC Unit. If any student from our premises takes part in NCC, and they have a B Certificate or C certificate, it can help them a lot. When they go for an interview and show that I have the NCC certificate, certainly they will be benefited. And another thing is that our placement cell is doing best from their end. So many MOUs have been signed with the companies, you will be surprised to know, just few days earlier, around 40 MOUs have been signed for the benefit of the student. So, it has added something more to our university and the placement: Your action should be louder than your words, once your students have been placed in so many fields then they will say that I have been passed, I have been posted here after getting the education from Sai Nath University, that will be a pride moment for we all. So certainly, through our work, we think that we “Sainathian” should be known by others for our efforts with our works.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

Yeah definitely, there is no end of the sky, the sky is unlimited, and desires are unlimited but only the limited desires can be fulfilled. So, under the able leadership of our VC sir and our learned faculty members team, and what is best from our end, we are always ready for my students. So, I think that if anyone visits our universities, certainly they will feel proud that we are going to be a part of such a branded university in Jharkhand. A portion should be concentrated towards his/ her goal, so if our student determines that I have to do this, nothing is impossible, because in itself impossible means I am possible.

So being the director of the education department, I would like to say that nothing is impossible, everything can be achieved with hard work because hard work is key to success and every time, we are with our students to provide our maximum so that they can reach their zenith. Actually, this life is full of thorns and here we can face so many challenges being a part of the Sai Nath family, I would like to say that we are the people who like to accept all types of challenges. So, we want to see our university in the apex.
