Being the Director of the Amity Law School, how do you ensure holistic development of students?

As Director of Amity Law School, I believe that our ambitious students should not only be drowned in the sea of academics but should also be exposed to various kinds of real world challenges and practical activities so that their holistic development could take place and they can be industry ready on time. Hence, we conduct various activities like Moot Court Competitions, Mock Parliamentary Debates, Field Visits, Internships and Military Training Camps etc. from time to time to keep our students updated with the latest happenings of the outer world.

How do you bring in a practical and industry-oriented approach towards subjects?

For the purpose of ensuring that students get the best possible practical exposure and experience, our Law School regularly organizes an extensive range of events and activities. We are also shifting from traditional to andragogical teaching methodologies so that students stay motivated by their own innate need to learn and develop instead of relying only on the Teachers for every information. In other terms, we remain more focused on providing Clinical Education, wherein the students get hands-on experience in providing Legal Services to Clients.

Which Teaching techniques are followed by ALS to help students gain necessary skills?

We are following the blended approach of various teaching methodologies and our very first practice is that we are following the concept of flipped classroom, where we first provide pre-recorded video lectures to students and after that are conduct in-person lectures and discuss with them about whatever they have understood after watching that video.

Along with this, ‘role plays’ are conducted on a regular basis and the think-pair share concept is also used where Teachers throw a question and students are allotted some time to think, post which, they have to discuss about the given topic with their peer student. We also use real life case studies while teaching the students so that they can easily relate the theoretical concepts with its practical applications.

How do you prepare your students to deal with the outside competitive world?

I strongly believe that through discipline and dedicated hard-work every student can cope up with the competition prevalent in the outside dynamic market. In today's world, everyone, be it any individual or any big Corporate House, needs top class Lawyers, not only to be tech savvy and prompt but also to be able to represent them in all jurisdictions and forums.

Hence, our focus remains on incorporating emerging technologies in our multidisciplinary courses in the best way possible and equal efforts are put in by our Teachers while taking lectures or conducting events.

What do you see as the greatest strengths of your Law School and how it helps students to excel?

The greatest strengths of our Amity Law School lies in the competence of its highly educated and experienced Teachers and friendly relationship between students and them.

We are also providing best opportunities to our young minds for organizing both national and international level events, hence the administrative skills and competence and confidence they develope over time also adds to our strength.
