Mrs. G Subhashini is currently serving as a Professor and the Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Malla Reddy Institute of Technology and Science, Hyderabad. With over 11 years of experience in both the teaching field and industry, she has a prolific research record, with numerous publications in SCI, SCOPUS, peer-reviewed national and international journals, book chapters, and conferences.

Dr. Subhashini is actively pursuing her Ph.D. at KL University, Hyderabad, with a focus on VLSI INTERCONNECTS. She holds an M.Tech degree with a specialization in VLSI System Design from JNTU Hyderabad and a B.Tech degree with a specialization in Electronic and Communication Engineering from Osmania University. Her research interests encompass Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

How do you stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering, and how do you incorporate this knowledge into your departments teaching and research?

Encouraging faculty to attend conferences, workshops, and seminars related to ECE helps them stay current with emerging trends and technologies. Moreover, fostering a culture of continuous learning among faculty members cultivates an environment of innovation and adaptability within the institution. This, in turn, empowers educators to integrate cutting-edge practices into their teaching methods, ensuring that students receive the most relevant and forward-thinking education in the field of Early Childhood Education.


How do you encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities, hackathons, competitions, and research projects to enhance their practical skills alongside their academic learning?

Continually seek feedback from students about their interests and concerns regarding participation in extracurricular activities. Utilize this feedback to enhance the offerings and support.

How do you plan to collaborate with industry professionals and organizations to provide real-world experiences and opportunities for students in the ECE department at MRITS?

Invite industry experts to deliver guest lectures and workshops. These sessions can offer students valuable insights into industry trends and practical knowledge. 

We are creating opportunities for students to interact directly with these experts through Q&A sessions or networking events, facilitating meaningful connections and potential mentorship opportunities. This not only enriches their educational experience but also opens doors to potential internships or job prospects in their chosen field, giving them a valuable head start in their careers.


Can you explain us about the infrastructural facilities available with respect to ECE Department at MRITS?

Classrooms and lecture halls are equipped with audio-visual facilities and are used for conducting lectures and seminars. Laboratories are equipped with the latest tools, project, and innovation spaces.


Being HOD, what strategies do you use to motivate and engage your students, and how do you ensure that they are well-prepared for their future careers?

Establish mentorship programs where senior students or faculty members mentor and guide junior students. This can provide valuable academic and career advice.

Mentorship programs can also foster a sense of belonging and community within the institution, creating a supportive network for students to lean on during their academic journey.
