TG EAPCET 2025 Weightage of Intermediate Marks
In TS EAMCET, the weightage of the marks of Intermediate (Class 12) has changed drastically throughout the years.
Historical Perspective:
Before 2021, the TS EAMCET ranking system gave 75% weightage to the scores in the entrance examination and 25% weightage to the marks scored in Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE). This integrated assessment was meant to give a comprehensive evaluation of a student's academic performance and aptitude.
Recent Changes:
- During 2021, owing to the pandemic caused by COVID-19, and the disruptions that had occurred, the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) chose to waive off the 25% Intermediate mark weightage for the given academic year and declared ranks strictly based on TS EAMCET ranks.
- But from 2023 onwards, the TSCHE officially discontinued the 25% Intermediate marks weightage in the TS EAMCET ranking process. This has been made official by GO MS No.18, which overrode the previous GO MS No.73 published in 2011. According to the amendment:
"Candidates who secured qualifying marks in EAMCET and candidates belonging to SC and ST category for whom qualifying marks have not been prescribed should be assigned ranking in the order of merit on the basis of the marks secured in EAMCET only."
TG EAMCET 2025 Inclusion of Intermediate Second Year Syllabus
The TG EAPCET 2025 has fully integrated the Intermediate Second Year syllabus into its examination framework.
Composition of Syllabus:
TG EAPCET 2025 syllabus covers 100% of first and second-year intermediate syllabus, including subject areas relevant to the selected stream:
- Engineering Stream (E): Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry
- Agriculture and Pharmacy Stream (AM): Botany, Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry
This pattern requires students to properly study all the subjects of both years to perform well in the examination.
Weightage Distribution:
Although the syllabus comprises material from both years, the priority of each year's syllabus is as follows:
- First Year Intermediate Syllabus: Around 55%
- Second Year Intermediate Syllabus: Around 45%
This allocation shows a little extra emphasis on the first-year subjects, requiring preparation of both years evenly.
TG EAPCET Syllabus 2025 Previous Years’ Comparison
Over the years, the TG EAPCET syllabus has undergone modifications to align with educational standards and address unforeseen challenges.
Restoration of Complete Syllabus in 2025
- Reduction due to Pandemic (2020-2024): Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the educational disruptions caused a 30% decrease in the intermediate syllabus for the TG EAPCET examinations from 2020 to 2024. This reduction was made to reduce the load on students and teachers during difficult periods.
- Reinstatement in 2025: The TG EAPCET 2025 has reinstated the full syllabus, including 100% of the first and second-year intermediate curriculum. This reinstatement marks a return to the normal academic pattern, guaranteeing a thorough evaluation of students' knowledge.
