NTA releases the CMAT Exam Pattern 2025 along with the registration notification. According to the exam pattern the question paper will have 100 questions from each section. There will be a total of five sections. These five sections are: 1) Language Comprehension, 2) Logical Reasoning, 3) General Awareness 4) Innovation & Entrepreneurship, 5) Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation. There will be negative marking for wrong attempts.

What’s New in CMAT 2025?
- The exam authority reduced the number of questions from 25 to 20 (each section). According to the exam pattern, there will be a total of 100 questions
- The question will have five sections with no choice and two shifts.
- The exam time duration has been reduced to three hours.
- There is no sectional time limit for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship section.
- The Innovation and Entrepreneurship section score is counted for percentile calculation to prepare the merit list.

Ques. How do I apply for colleges using a CMAT score?
Ans. First, check which colleges accept CMAT scores. Besides that, check the previous year's cut-off trends for each college. Remember that not all colleges accept CMAT scores. After that, you will have to appear in the exam to get a CMAT score. Then, upload your scoresheet on the official portal of the colleges.
Ques. If I am not able to clear the CAT, can I just take the CMAT with my CAT preparation?
Ans. Yes, you can take the CMAT with your CAT preparation. The syllabus is almost the same for all the MBA exams. However, strategy is important to clear the exam. In CMAT, you will have two additional sections, namely GK and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. You will have to prepare for them separately and try to solve the previous year’s questions.
