Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum has been recently revised and updated as per the latest and upcoming topics. The faculties at NITIE are highly qualified and experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds, including academia and industry. A mid-term exam and an end-term exam are conducted which is moderately to a little difficult if you want to score good marks.

Campus Life:

The hostel is allotted on a double sharing basis and is sufficiently spacious for 2 people. The library is huge and contains all the necessary newspapers and magazines not only in English but also in local languages. The sports facility is moderate, with no indoor stadium and swimming pool like some other IIMs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have selected the PGDM program which is the flagship program for the institute and the choice was very obvious the number of students is around 450 including the students for the PGDIE program. We are a class strength of around 70 people and we have around 10 subjects in each module and the Teachers ratio is very optimum because we have more than one teacher teaching for one particular subject depending upon their competencies for a particular course and all the faculties are having prior experience of teaching in top b school s and some of them are like more than 20 years of teaching experience in NITIE. We have 10 subjects in one module so we have several exam assignments that are done at regular intervals. The teaching method of every faculty is very unique and adds something new to the discussion through industrial knowledge and consultancy done for many top organizations.

Fees and Financial Aid:

NITIE has one of the best ROI in the country for MBA programs. The course fee has increased over the years due to its brand and with the ongoing process of when it is going to turn into an IIM to course fees going to be relatively higher in the future but since it is a Government institution there are several financial aids and scholarship given to meritorious and economically backward students. There is a stipend facility for students coming through gate exams and the ROI of the college is around 200% so it's a very good choice for studying in a B school if you have a keen interest in the supply chain and operations domain.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum is very rigorous here where subjects from each function are taught like marketing, HR, finance, strategy, and Supply chain management. Basics are taught in the first two modules and then faculties deep dive into the subjects in further modules. Faculty here are exceptional and have immense Subject and practical Knowledge

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees here are very less compared to other top MBA B Schools here in India. It's generally around 14-15 Lakhs for the 2-year MBA Course. Also, there are opportunities for Scholarship here based on your previous academic performance and sports participation.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for summer placements beyond 1st semester itself. After completing summer placements after 3rd semester, students are eligible for their final placements. 107 companies visited in 2022 and their names are available in the placement report available on the website. Avg. package stood at 25.4 LPA for 2022 which is a 30% annual increase. There is 100% campus placement with the highest CTC at 49 LPA. All the top-level profiles from Operations and Supply chain management, Consulting, General Management, Program, and Product management were being offered with good roles in marketing, finance, and HR as well. The avg stipend for the summer of 2023 stood at 1.85 Lakh and the median was 2 Lakh. The highest package stood at 3.5 Lakh.438/498 students got a stipend of more than 1 lakh and 128 companies visited the campus for the process. After getting my degree I wish to work in an organisation in a strategic role where I would like to implement and practice my learnings.

Campus Life:

Life on campus is simply amazing and beautiful. Being at God's own campus you enjoy a beautiful campus away from the hustle of central Mumbai. Being a PG and Ph.D.-only campus, the atmosphere and vibe are subtle and full of freedom. The annual cultural fest is Avartan which starts with inter-collegiate sports and cultural competitions followed by leadership talks and case competitions. The whole campus is a festive ground with no classes and only fun mode for the entire week. It is conducted in October. There are societies as per all the interests like cultural com., Women development cell, E-cell, Alumni Relations, Placements, Rankings, Marketing, Finance, Sports, Impact, Enactus and much more. All of these are student-run clubs and committees. The library is a 3-floor one and has all the books in physical as well as digital form with top journal subscriptions like Gartner. Classrooms are air-conditioned with single and dual projector options and a stage and step format.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is best for people having a technical background as it integrates your technical knowledge into management. Apart from this, the placement figures and fees were another criterion. The presence of Alums in top management positions also helps. Most faculties have PhDs in their respective fields, and they follow a mixture of case studies and group assignment methods for their classes. The exams are held on time with enough prep time given. The exams are mostly based on the application of concepts being taught in the class and are fairly easy to pass if you pay attention in class.

Campus Life:

Avartan is the annual fest of NITIE, which stretches for over a week, and it has all kinds of events ranging from technical to managerial events. It's in October with people from multiple colleges participating. We have a cricket ground, basketball court, football ground, and other facilities. There is a 3 floored library with all the books and journals which a student might need, plus we do get an e-library and databases subscription. There are over 20 clubs/committees in college, ranging from consulting to sports committees.

Placement Experience:

Final placements start in 6th trimester and they arrange a placement week and companies are called as per the students choice and they are also given slots according to students choice. Most of the placements are finished within 3 days and allmost all the students are place by 5th day. If few students are still left due to various reasons like low performance, they also get placements very soon. The package offered is really good with minimum of 8-9 LPA to 60-70 lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The course fee is the lowest in the rank and provides better ROI if you are getting admission here. There are scholarships, based on reservation, Discipline and performance. Which is checked by the committee. The campus provides 100% placements for both Interns and finals well ahead. Offers are unlimited.

Internships Opportunities:

I would say companies that come for Summer Internships are far better than most of the campus across the country and some good companies prefer to recruit students after evaluating their performance in Summer internships. NITIE has maintained a record of 100% in Summer Internships as well. Talking about companies, it includes all type of companies from different sectors like Consulting, IT, FMCG, etc

Placement Experience:

NITIE's placement is one of the best in the country with companies coming from different sectors like Consulting, FMCG, Manufacturing, IT, etc. It is 100% and will be 100% as always as the college has proved itself it in the times of recession of 2008 and COVID as well. Average CTC for 2020-22 Batch would lie somewhere around 22-25 LPA

Campus Life:

The campus of NITIE is called Gods own campus. Although it is a small campus of around 167 acres it is lush green. It also has a pond in itself which gives a soothing experience to the students. Hostel for girls and boys are different and they are not allowed to go into other hostels.

Remarks:

Major factors were: Average Package, Location, Alumni Network and FeeGood part is the activities in the campus due to being located in a prime city. However the jobs are more focused towards operations. Not recommended for marketing and finance.Admission process was good specially the induction which was full of fun activities and an opportunity to meet and know everyone in a week.I choose this college on the suggestions of Alumni interaction and based on my deep research on LinkedIn about alumni job profile and growth. After admission I realised, I had underestimated this college earlier.

Campus Life:

Campus is also know as "God's own campus". It is located in Powai and surrounded by Sanjay Gandhi National park with two big lakes around. The residential campus is lush green with all the facilities and one of the best hostels. There's a pond inside the campus which is a common gathering point and spend some quality time in discussion or in relaxing in the nature's lap. Being located in Powai, the night life and clubbing is the best one can ask for.

Ques. After doing a BE in civil engineering, is it worth doing construction management from NICMAR Pune?

● Top Answer By Niladri Ghose on 31 May 23

Ans. Post Graduate Program in Advanced Construction Management is a course specifically designed for civil engineers and architects. Both technical studies and management studies are combined to create this course. This is the finest course to take if you want to study construction management. The course's scope is wider, which means you can pursue numerous career profiles such as site execution and control, planning, health, safety, and the environment, valuation and estimating, and so on.  The course is multi-disciplinary combining aspects of civil engineering, general management, and construction project management.  The duration of the course is 21 months, having 7 trimesters of 3 months each. The 4th trimester is kept for summer internship and exams are held every 3 months.  The eligibility for the course is having a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture with a minimum of 50% degree.  The admission consists of 4 steps: NICMAR Common Admission Test: 150 marks GD: 20 marks Personal Interview: 30 marks Rating of Application: 50 marks There is an admission for sponsored category too. First, you need to go through the admission test and pay 50% fees higher than the tuition fees. However, sponsored students are not provided with any placement assistance. The institute assures 100% placement assistance but the compensation depends on your performance. Overall the course is good but still, I would suggest you first go for 2 years experience in the field and then go for the course. Read more

Ques. I got admission in nicmar pune in ACM but many present students from nicmar are advising not to join due to less placements is it true?

● Top Answer By Bhavik Garg on 07 Oct 21

Ans. If you have joined Pune Campus, sit and relax. NICMAR is one of the reputed institutes for Construction Management. You will enjoy an unparalleled level of respect whenever you apply to companies like KPMG, L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji.  However, the university will not provide you with everything. You have to work hard to grasp such reputation and job profiles. If you are scoring only 60% in your PG degree and expecting to secure a job offer on the very 1st day, then you are wrong. The placement process is very rigorous and you might have to go through at least six stages to secure a job offer. Your profile, personality, caliber, capability, and hard work determine the job role you will get. ACM has a huge strength of 800+ students and if you don't work hard then the recruiters would not have reasons to select you. Read more

Ques. Should I join NITIE PGDIM as a fresher with no work experience? What is the scenario of placements for freshers at NITIE? Should I write the CAT again?

● Top Answer By Shivani Chaturvedi on 13 Aug 21

Ans. You can definitely join NITIE as a fresher. You will have ample learning and placement opportunities at NITIE.  NITIE has placements at par with any other B school in India. NITIE is one of very few B-schools that conduct separate lateral and common placement processes for experienced and fresher. Also, NITIE has a magnificent ROI. In case your academic record is not good and you have no prior work experience then it’s better to join a job and prepare for next year’s CAT. You can’t improve your academics but this way, you can improve your overall profile.  So, choose the option that suits you best. Read more

Ques. After doing a PGP in ACM from NICMAR, which job will I be getting, and how will be life after that?

● Top Answer By Anamika Sinha on 31 May 23

Ans. After you pass out from NICMAR, that name has a lot of significance. The organization you join values it plainly, and they have strong standards (these standards were established by former students who are currently in key management positions). NICMAR students mostly get placed in Planning/Contracts/Business development/ Tendering kind of profiles. The early years would involve a lot of work and long hours. Once you adapt, learn, and establish yourself, you'll soon succeed in your roles and be able to compete in decision-making with top management. This is a fundamental concept for whatever company you work for following NICMAR. Simply put, NICMAR is a way to add quality and relevance to your hard work so that you might succeed at a faster rate. It is not a shortcut to a better life or job.Read more

Ques. Should I join PGP ACM NICMAR Pune as a fresher?

● Top Answer By Aditi Deshpande on 25 May 23

Ans. The highest package of NICMAR Pune is 24 LPA, and the average package stands at 9LPA, so if you are a fresher with an excellent academic record, you could definitely think about going to NICMAR since they have an excellent scholarship policy for the students with more than 95% throughout their school and undergraduate degree.  There are good brands like L&T, Axis Bank, JMC Projects (India), and Zetwerk who regularly visit the campus, but being a fresher the CV shortlisting for all the big brands would be slightly tricky unless you have a great resume. So, start working on your resume if you want to spend 13 lac of your money for an average package of 8-9LPARead more

Ques. What are the CAT sectional cutoffs for the PGDISEM course at NITIE Mumbai?

● Top Answer By Minal Chaturvedi on 15 Mar 23

Ans. The Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety and Environmental Management (PGDISEM) program at NITIE Mumbai requires a valid CAT score for admission. The institute does not have any sectional cutoffs for the CAT exam for the PGDISEM program. However, NITIE Mumbai considers the overall CAT percentile and the candidate's performance in the subsequent selection rounds, such as Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), and Written Ability Test (WAT), for admission to the PGDISEM program. Candidates who score above the minimum CAT percentile as decided by the institute will be shortlisted for the selection rounds. The final admission decision is based on a candidate's overall performance in the CAT exam and the selection rounds. It's important to note that the cutoffs and selection criteria may vary each year depending on the number of applicants and the performance of candidates in the selection rounds. Therefore, it's best to keep an eye on the official website of NITIE Mumbai for the latest updates on admission criteria and cutoffs for the PGDISEM program.Read more

Ques. What is the difference between the advanced construction management and project management course offered by NICMAR, Pune? What is the difference between the work profile?

● Top Answer By Rishi Joshi on 20 Sept 21

Ans. There is a clear demarcation between the both. Project management is basically preparing a student for the project industry whereas advanced construction management is related to construction projects.  At NICMAR, the first year of both the courses are the same as any other general management. But from next year you get the projects according to your subjects like PEM students get the project industry experience in the oil or gas industry whereas ACM students get exposure to the construction projects. For both the courses there is a perfect mix of faculty internally as well as some renowned professionals from outside, so that students can learn every aspect of their course. Considering the profile, it totally depends upon your interest but mostly it has been seen that the civil engineers opt for ACM while mechanical or electrical engineers opt for PEM. Though it is not mandatory, it totally depends upon the choice of an individual. Lastly, we can say that there is a clear difference between the two courses, so search for the same before taking admission in any of the fields.Read more

Ques. Is getting in NICMAR for a PGP ACM a good option when I have no work experience?

● Top Answer By Anamika Sinha on 23 May 23

Ans. Even though you do not have prior work experience, doing PGP ACM from NICMAR will always help you and give you an edge in the field of Engineering. I have friends who joined NICMAR Pune just after UG in Civil Engineering. Some joined ACM and some joined PM at Pune. They pursued their respective course and with exposure to different companies during their internships and industry-satisfying pedagogy they were able to bag placements in Larsen & Toubro.  Do not hesitate to join NICMAR Pune if you get an admission call from them. Just dive into the curriculum and everything is sorted.Read more
