Placement Experience:

From the 3rd semester of the course, the students are eligible for the college placement session. We all know that the IITs are known for their campus placements with very high packages for Jobs. The college placement quality is awesome because the institution is the best university, and placement also has a very high percentage. The college has a record of 85 percent selection in Placement and the remaining 15% are those who leave the placement sessions to do something else or open any start-up. The college's highest placement offer is 2 crore per annum and the average wage placement is 30- 35 lacs per annum. The main recruiting companies are Snapdragon, Amazon, Google, etc. My plans are different I want to become a college professor.

Internships Opportunities:

My IIT college also provides the internship to interested students as well and the internship is required, and we are eligible for an internship after finishing our 1st-year program. We are only eligible for an internship if we attend 70% of classes and have the same percentage of attendance. Many companies/industries visit our campus for the internship program of almost 50+ companies. The average internship stipend is around 1k to 2lacs. The college also helps in enhancing extra knowledge and skills by providing project work to the campus students to learn something new and get some experience and I can proudly say that I also take much participated in college projects.

Admission:

I faced the online interview during covid time, there were 6 panel members & each one of them asked me basic to advanced level questions and answered near about 80% of questions. They are checking for confidence & depth of knowledge level even if you don't answer 2-3 question that is completely fine.

Remarks:

I have done my post graduation from NIT Hamirpur Later one of my senior suggested me to join PhD program in Power amplifier Design & modeling under the same professor. My whole process of admission has done online & it was quite easy, because nobody wants to run here there for reasons.

Campus Life:

The annual fest is called the SPRING FEST while the tech fest is known by the name KSHITIJ. Both the fests are held in the Winters in the month of January. We have one of the largest Central Libraries where almost evry book and journal are available either online or offline. The classrooms have projectors for presentations. There is a lot of scope for sports and extracurricular activities on campus. Some of the groups run by students include PRAVAH (Hindi Dramatic Society), ENCORE (English Dramatic Society), Business Club (to harbour entrepreneurial activities) etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always dreamt of becoming a professor and thus I joined the PhD course. In our department, we have 20 faculty and about 400 students including Undergraduates, Postgraduates and Research scholars and thus a faculty: student ratio of about 1:20. All the faculties are PhD holders and the teaching method is a mixture of conventional and modern techniques. The exams are held timely and require an above par level of knowledge to pass.

The annual cultural fest at IIT Kharagpur is called the SpringFest (or SF) where students from pan-India come and participate, while the guest speakers and performers come from India and abroad. The annual tech-fest at IIT Kharagpur is called Kshitij (or KTJ), where students from various institutes across the country participate in the mega-events. The IIT Kharagpur campus has one of the biggest libraries in the country with more than 3.5 lakhs of books. The classrooms are well-equipped with green boards and projectors for providing an amazing classroom experience for the students. There are several inter-hostel and inter-department sports meet happening throughout the year. There is an annual sport meet among all IITs, which is called the Inter-IIT sports meet. The campus has more than 45 registered clubs stretching from business clubs to dramatics which comes under Technology Student Gymkhana, and are solely run by the students, for the students, and of the students.

Placement Experience:

In the UG courses, the placements start from the 6th semester, while for Ph.D. students, it is generally in their final year when they get eligible to appear for the placements. IIT Kharagpur has a very strong alumni network and generally, all the big shot companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Honeywell, Scheider, BCG, Barclays, and several PSUs visit for the placements. The average package is around 7-14 lakhs p.a. and the highest package of 1 crore is offered every year and almost 90-95% of students from the various programmes bags a placement. For Ph.D. students, generally, some core companies offer placements, while most of the students opt for becoming faculty in prestigious engineering colleges of the country. Although. after completing my curriculum, I will be joining a post-doctoral programme at a foreign university.
