For the admissions to the Bachelor of Technology [B.TECH] in fashion technology program entrance examinations like IIT-JEE, VEE, BITSAT, etc as per the institution entrance intake regulation and (10+2) percentile is done. I had a very good campus life experience with my staffs and friends. events like technical lectures , motivational programmes, culture developmental programme etc.. will be conducted. there will be a cultural event once in four year. there are fewer books and journal collections available for fashion technology department in the library. we have ideal lab which has all kind of tools and equipments were students with unique projetcs ideas will be potraited. there is a huge ground for sports and extra curricular activities in campus. we have social clubs , social groups and socoal media account to address our fashion technology department.

Course Curriculum Overview:

this fashion technology course is similar to other B . Tech engineering courses. we have a total of 8 semesters in that for each semester we have 3 internal exams , model exam , model practical and final exams that is the semester examination. subject staffs will teach each of the subjects which have five units in them in eight to nine periodic subject hours. still the syllabus need to be improved because this syllabi has more textile related content that fashion streamed subjects. now the staffs are processing with the syllabi. sooner it will be changed

About the fees structure it is similar to other engineering courses, that is for contact students they offer 65000rs per semester. And for management students they offer 90000rs per semester. And there are additional fees like transportation fee, maintenance fee, breakage fee etc.. There are some scholarships are accepted in this college

The overall experience in this college is good . They organize technical programs , lectures etc. They conduct symposium , cultural but once in four year. Expect the unexpected things

In my college the cultural festival are conducted once in four years and the management conducted to many techno festival to improve the students knowledge ,the techno festival are conducted according to department wise.there is also clubs and sport clubs are in my college.

I joined this course with my own preference because I'm very passionate about this course but the syllabus mostly covered the textile part only,this made so dissatisfied and i should preference to enhance the course curriculum and teaching method .

Expectations kills reality

Many technical events are conducted by various department .and some konwledge gaining events are also conduct.i couldn't found any books in library which is related to my course fashion technology. The sport and extracurricular are happening actively.

I rate this course below average because lack of staff and not having a proper class room.i join this course with my own preferences. Course improved by recruiting skilled staff to guide the students in more efficient way.

I have attended 2 internships in 2 years.. there are many people who attend 4 5 internships in total of 2 years. The department and the college management provides us with the best internships available in the top companies where we get to know all about the practical aspects of the work flow in industry that will be usefull for our placement and interview

There are 15 clubs that run successful every week. There are club like horse riding, civil aspirat club, heritage club, dance and music, and more. Every month there will be 2 club sessions. The clubs also offer industries visit and camps. NCC and NSS are really usefull to be a part of.. I am a part of NSS where we conduct many camps and serve outside also.

Placement Experience:

From 4th year onwards eligible for placement. The highest package of placement is 70000 and the 80 percentage of students got the placement. The companies provide training with basic salary also. Happy place for learning life

Banewz is one of the notable events in BIT- specifically for fashion tech, a grand event done in collaboration with BIT FT students and New Zealand fashion students. Happens on August 1st of each year. Apart from this, there would be 1- 3 monthly tech and non-tech events. There's a learning center in the area of 8240 sq.m with support of 95000 volumes of text and reference books with an RFID-based Library Management System. Well-ventilated classrooms with attached table chairs and a smart screen for teaching. Sports: basketball court, cricket ground, football ground, tennis court, volleyball, pool table, 400 mtr athletics track with curb, handball court. Clubs: Bureau of Overseas Education, code circle, Community Service Club, entrepreneurship club, Fine Arts Club, food ture club, geo club, great minds club, etc.

I am an artistic soul and love to explore fashion design along with the traditional and natural. atmosphere. That's why I have chosen this college. Almost there are 12 teaching staff and 7 non-teaching staff. Approximately 50- 70 students per classroom Well-knowledged faculties who have finished M.tech and a few are phDs too and their way of teaching is mostly through PPTs which are easy to understand and doubt solving at the end of each class. There were a total of 2 internals and 1 main exam in each semester. And the questions would be mostly application so I couldn't say it's hard.

There fee of around 1L if there are the first graduates in the government quota their fee will be less by 25,000. They have provided scholarships for studies. From third year onwards they conduct placement and internship if you have a good percentage with no arrear you may get a job from third-year itself with good salary.

I am interested in apparel production and technology that's why I am choosing this course. Faculties are very kind and help us an easy way to learn as well as most of the faculties are doctorate. If they completed two units then they conduct the unit test.

According to me, food, air, water, shelter, and clothes are the necessities of human. So I chose fashion as my career choice which is a never-ending firm. The faculty ratio is 1:20 and all staff has secured postgraduate and some with doctorate degrees. The teaching is based on Reverse Bloom's Taxonomy method. The term exams take place twice a year with a gap of six months for each semester. The examinations consist of multiple-choice questions and reasoning types that are difficult but easy if you go through your class notes and better understand the concepts taught, which is their main aim.

There are more than 50 clubs and 13 departments. Every club and department organizes yearly fests. BIT Library is one of the best-known libraries in Tamil Nadu which comprises three floors, centralized ac, and digital search facilities. The library has books on all subjects and is available to all. Badminton, Basketball, hockey, throwball are some of the famous sport in BIT. Students can join these teams after college hours. BIT supports its student in all ways and encourages students to participate in other college competitions.

Vit a place to play learn and grow

I chose fashion technology because I have a great passion for fashion and designing and also stitching. And the faculties in my department are highly educated. We have 8 Faculties in our fashion department. They all are well educated and they are very experienced in the fashion sector and also they are well trained. Since we have a less number of students in each class, our faculties are more friendly and more concerned about each student. Since we are doing a b. Tech course we are instructed to learn some common engineering courses. And courses like calculus for engineering are some difficult courses to pass. But if we understand and learn, we will be able to pass any difficult courses like that. But when it comes to our department subjects it would be very easy and also interesting. However, the faculties would make it very simple and interesting while teaching. Especially they make our every class very interactive.

Campus life at VIT Chennai is awesome. We can get many opportunities to showcase our talents. There are so many clubs conducting events then and there. Especially in VIT we have some special days like technovit which comes during October and also Vibrance which is a three days celebration that comes during January or February. So on those occasions, every club conducts interesting events that would make us socialize among students and especially to showcase their talents. Some special events like DJ nights would be really awesome which comes during vibrance. So during vibrance students from other colleges can also come and participate in events and enjoy themselves. Moreover, VIT is a place to play, learn and grow.

Remarks:

Actually I have a great passion towards fashion and I just got a news that there is fashion technology in VIT Chennai. So I thought to get into Vit I have to write the entrance exam. And I did the exam and I got a score and I was called to attend the counseling. So finally I got a seat for fashion technology. And then I came to know that for fashion technology it's not necessary to write vitee. Like VIT also conducted a separate counseling for fashion technology. But, some how I got the seat through vitee itself. So that's not an issue. So on the 1st day of orientation, I just came to college with my mom and during the orientation we gained some knowledge about Vit. And I also met my new college Mates, they were so friendly. And even the faculties were very kind to us.

In VIT there are so many opportunities and through those opportunities we can gain more knowledge. They had a fully flexibile curriculum, so the students can choose there course and and they can even choose the faculties. And in VIT we also have practical class and project based classes. So allover we have to get 160 credits to get graduated. And the academics are really good. There are different different faculties handling different different subjects. The faculties are really good at teaching and also kind to the students. They also have a good concern towards each students.

There are various job positions offered in our industry and the job opportunities are not bad. The college maintains good relationship with the alumni so job referrals or recommendations are easy to get. The college encourages entrepreneurship and is supportive of student's career. Many notable companies visit for placement and the placement process is quite rigorous because of the competition.

The course curriculum is satisfactory and all the syllabus are up to date. The faculties have long years of experience and they are friendly as well. We have a couple of industrial visits per year and we are taught the reality of our industry in depth. Most faculties are very friendly and we have a casual atmosphere in our classroom.
