Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

There is a consistent increase in the fee structure every year with current fees being around 30 lacs for 4 years for students who will be joining in 2024. We are also required to pay for the two internships that will be provided to us (one after 2nd yr in summer break and the other one in our 4th year). Merit cum need scholarships are also provided for people with week financial background (certain conditions are to be met). Students who have acted in BITSAT exams are also offered some scholarship.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The exams are very tough and are very hard to crack. Though many questions come from the pyq papers but still many a times make us question whether we have studied at all or not. There are still people who are actually scoring good though in the exams so it's not as if it's impossible but requires consistent efforts to ace the exams.

From fourth year one get into the campus placement but from second year one can apply for internship program. In previous year many psu like iocl, ongc ,nrl etc used to visit for the core branches but after the covid they used to recruit through the gate score so scope of high paying job is less but still one can get package of around 12lac through campus placement as many companies like Vedanta, dalmia cement, Infosys used to visit the campus. Placement percentage is 60 to 70 percentage

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose chemical branch because there i am not interested in it or other branch and also week in basic electrical engineering so i choose this path, though it is giving the practical knowledge on the course but this is not enough, exams are not very tough but the frequency of exams is very much

One can never bored in Jadavpur university. Campus life is top notch here. There's something going on here every single day. We know how to study as well as do things for recreation. There are various clubs like dance modelling, photography, mountaineering, debating, robotics, science, coding, acting, music club etc. I'm sorry if I've missed any but there's just so many. Our annual fest Sanskriti is the largest in east Asia which takes place over a period of 30 days in the month of March-April. There are other fests like Ibtida, indak, Srijan(tech fest) etc. Also sports is very much active in our campus. All types of sports such as cricket, football, basketball, table tennis etc is available here. Our college infrastructure is one of the best in east Asia. We have various departmental libraries also we have one main central library. It has vast range of books. Most of the classrooms have acs and is neat and clean. Our campus is student-friendly.

Placement Experience:

Placements in our campus is top tier be it of any department. On campus placements take place and good companies come, however the student can sit for off campus placements too. From 7th semester, the student is eligible to sit for the placements. And from 3rd semester the student can apply for internships. Core companies, to consultancy to IT companies all of them visit our campus. Example- Amazon, Microsoft, PWC, Deloitte, ITC etc paying high packages to freshers. Almost 90% percentage get placed from which some students even opt for higher studies. Average package is 15lpa and the highest goes upto 1 crore. After getting the degree I want a decent package of 30-40 lpa.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Chemical Engineering is 1 such field that has links with all other industries. A guy who becomes a Chemical Engineer can fit in any company, so I desired to choose this course. The college studies & practical training do help to prepare the candidates for the real world job but the actual experience comes only when you join the real world jobs. So the institutes should give introduce more real world industry specific trainings in the curriculum so the students have a good foundation when they enter the real world jobs. As already mentioned earlier the course consisted of total 8 semesters with varying level of difficulties.

Placement Experience:

The college provided placement services after finishing the 3rd year of the course. Several small scale companies visited the campus & offered packages starting from INR 96,000 per year until INR 5 lacs per year. The highest package offered was INR 5 lacs annually & the average package offered was INR 2.5 lacs annually. The college placement ratio was around 40%. After finishing my degree the immediate plan was to get a decent salary package job wherein I could learn & enhance my technical skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum in RVCE is fantastic and caters to modern demands . The course load is very relaxed with 20 credits per semester. There is a very large focus on extra curriculars and sports . You can always find RVCE winning Medals and Trophies in different Sports leagues . Our clubs are very famous for their activities in different areas . Name a area of activity and we have a club for that . Right from racing to debate we have so many clubs that any student can be a part of nevermind his or her branch or year of study . Cross disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities are encouraged . One thing I loved about the curriculum that 40% of grading depend upon Experiential Learning i.e we have to choose a project or have to develop an idea for solving s specific problem .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The tuition fees is mentioned in the RVCE and COMEDK website . Tuition fees increases happen seldom but if they happen the college will notify the students before they take admission and not in the middle of their courses . The fees is divided into two components COMEDK and VTU . My COMEDK fees is approximately 257000 and VTU fees is 30000. It approximately amounts to 290000. Placements are excellent. With a median package of 1000000 LPA . Placements are good . Companies can be divided into IT , Core and Analytics. There are various types of scholarships one can avail in RVCE . Ques. Should I join IIT Delhi chemical or top NIT CSE?

● Top Answer By Sushmita Gupta on 01 Apr 23

Ans. Yes, irrespective of the branch, choosing IIT Delhi will always prove to be beneficial for you. IIT Delhi has ties with many big firms that visit the campus for placements and offer great packages irrespective of your branch. One needs to be proficient in DSA and other computer science core subjects such as OOPS, OS, DBMS, and Computer Networks. A good grasp of these will fetch you a high-paying job no matter which branch you belong to in IIT Delhi. Although most companies that visit IIT Delhi also visit NIT, your IIT tag will always fetch you extra benefits and no one can deny that. For instance, the same role offered to an IITiand will have more salary than that offered to a non-IITian.You can easily switch roles and fields given the brand name of the institute you are associated with. IITians even have more opportunities for higher studies in Foreign countries than non-IITians. Ques. Which is better in terms of placements and all: IIT Roorkee chemical or IIT BHU chemical? Which has more liberal branch change rules: IIT Roorkee or IIT BHU?

● Top Answer By Nisha on 02 Jul 24

Ans. I am a second year Chemical Engineering student at IIT Roorkee. Both IIT Roorkee and IIT BHU offer top notch placements. However, IIT Roorkee Chemical is a better option because of these reasons- The NIRF Engineering ranking 2023 of IIT Roorkee is 5, while that of IIT BHU is 15. IIT Roorkee has a stronger alumni network than IIT BHU. This can be beneficial for placements, internships, and career guidance. The 2023 placement statistics of IIT Roorkee and IIT BHU are given below: Parameters IIT Roorkee Overall IIT BHU Chemical Placement Percentage - (63 Recruiters, 500 offers) 86.43% Median CTC - INR 16.18 LPA Average CTC - INR 19.52 LPA Highest CTC INR 1.3 CPA (domestic) INR 1.06 CPA (international) INR 1.68 CPA (overall) INR 1.15 CPA (Chemical) (The branch-wise placement data for IIT Roorkee is not available). The branch change policies are based on the academic performance of the students in their first year and the availability of seats in the desired branch. These are the branch change rules at IIT Roorkee and IIT BHU: IIT Roorkee-  A 9.0 or above CGPA is required for a branch change at IITR. Another thing is that the strength of the new branch should not increase by more than 10%. Moreover, the strength of the original branch must not fall by more than 25% of its existing strength. IIT BHU-  For IIT BHU, the required CGPA for branch change is around 8.5 to 9.0. IIT BHU might have a slightly more flexible approach, but it mainly depends on the number of students applying for the branch change and their respective CGPAs. Some branches may restrict the number of students who can transfer in. Seat availability in the desired branch is a critical factor for branch switch at both institutions. IIT BHU might have a slightly more relaxed approach for branch change. But overall, switching a branch at both these IITs is a difficult task. Read more

Ques. Which is better, chemical engineering from UICET PU Chandigarh, chemical engineering from Thapar University Patiala or computer science from CCET Chandigarh (affiliated to PU)?

● Top Answer By Pankaj Kumar on 05 Aug 21

Ans. Having a few friends from both institutes I might be able to share some facts about both the institutes. Chemical Engineering at UICET is better than Chemical at Thapar University or CSE at CCET. UICET is a well-renowned university and has a reputed department.  They have brilliant placement records and a strong alumni base. Laboratories and faculty at UICET are better than those at Thapar. Course fees at UICET for chemical engineering are very less than that in Thapar University.  Thapar is no doubt a well-reputed university but as far as chemical engineering is concerned UICET is better. CCET is affiliated with PU located in sector-26 Chandigarh. It is well known for its diploma courses. However, UICET is any day better than CCET in all terms. Categories Chemical Engineering at UICET Chemical Engineering at Thapar University CSE at CCET Chandigarh Course Fee INR 70,079 13.23 lakh 2.45 lakh Highest CTC 18 LPA 15 LPA 12 LPA Average CTC 6.31 LPA 7 LPA 4-5 LPA Recruiting Companies Honeywell, Reliance, Pfizer, Piramal Healthcare, etc. Reliance, GAIL, ONGC, GlaxoSmithKline, etc. Infosys, Godrej, L&T, HCL, etc. Your preference order should be Chemical Engineering at UICET> Chemical at Thapar University> CSE at CCET.Read more

Ques. How is Chemical Engineering at NIT Surathkal?

● Top Answer By Shikha Ghosal on 14 Sept 23

Ans. The Chemical Engineering branch at NIT Surathkal isn’t well-known because of its obsolete curriculum and poor placement scenario. I hope you haven’t yet joined it but if you have known that there is no turning back. It’s better to start working hard to compensate for the poor branch than to sit and regret.  It’s better to opt for Chemical in Trichy or Warangal. Otherwise, you can study hard in the 1st year and opt for a branch change. Even if you fail to get CSE/IT, even civil and mining will do.  I have many friends who joined this department recently and all of them are regretting their decision big time. Some even call it the worst in the institution. So I will recommend you to go for Chemical in NIT Warangal instead. Read more
