Candidates willing to pursue a BAMS course without a NEET score must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects in their 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in each of the subjects.
  • 10% relaxation of marks is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories.
  • Candidates must also fulfill the upper age criteria, i.e. 20 years, to get admission into this course.

Admission Procedure for BAMS without NEET

The admission procedure for a BAMS course without a NEET score varies from college to college. However, a general procedure for admission into this course is listed below.

  • Candidates planning to get admission into colleges offering BAMS courses without a NEET score must hold good marks in their 10+2.
  • Once 10+2 examination results are declared, various colleges release their admission notification on their official websites and even in popular newspapers.
  • Candidates must visit these colleges or universities' websites and look for the admission link to BAMS courses.
  • Candidates must fill out the online application form available on the website for direct admission into the BAMS course along with uploading relevant documents. This includes filling in personal information like name, DOB, address, and marks/ pass certificate of class 10 and 10+2. After filling these details candidates have to upload their photographs and signatures as well.
  • This should be followed by payment of the application fee through debit/ credit card/ net banking and the final submission of the application form. Some institutes offer the provision of submitting the application fee through demand draft as well.
  • Once the payment is done and the application form is submitted, candidates must download and print the application form for future reference.
  • Candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria would be contacted by the concerned college/ university and offered admission through a separate examination conducted by the institute or through the management quota.

BAMS is a 5.5-year course including the internship and training period. The BAMS course is divided into 4 professional semesters. The first, second, and third professional semesters will be of 1.5 years each, whereas, the fourth professional semester will be a year long. Ans. PGIMS Rohtak intakes candidates for BAMS on the basis of CET merit.  The application form for CET is available in June. It can be obtained after a payment of Rs. 2400 (general) and Rs. 600 (ST/SC/Backward). The CET exam is held in July, and results are displayed in the same month. The first counseling session usually held in September.  You must be at least 17 years of age by the end of that year, and must have secured a minimum of 50% (general) and 40% (SC/ST/Backward) in 10+2 with Chemistry, Physics, and Biology to sit for CET.  The paper is for 3 hours duration and has a total of 180 questions for 180 marks. There is no negative marking.
