The PG students get a lot of companies and their average package is 6 LPA i believe. Last year the highest package was 20 LPA a girl got from Vedantu during college placements. Placements apparently have taken a toll after covid. For UG students there are less opportunities and the average package for us was 3.5 LPA
Placements are good only if you're interested in AD&PR, graphic design, and videography but not good if you're interested in journalism. The salary packages ranged from 2 to 5 LPA. I didn't get placed because of the unavailability of jobs that interested me during the college placements.
The institute helps in getting your internships at companies of your choice as well as giving a wide number of options from their side too. As for me, they helped me in getting an internship at Radio Mango 91.9. The tasks I had to do were engaging. I had to help in writing radio delivery scripts, commercial scripts, and I also had the opportunity to deliver my skills in the speech by reading out a few commercials too.
Internships are rare and we even had a compulsory internship assessment course last sem. Where we had to do a mandatory internship for 6 weeks. The internship was evaluated for 100 marks. They asked for feedback from our supervisors. Then we had to submit an internship report and had to do a presentation on what we have learned. This internship opportunity was supposed to be given by the college but they didn't. When we asked they didn't help us to find internships. We were left on our own and had to arrange internships through other sources - Linkedin, Internshala, Personal contacts, etc.

The alumni network at Manipal Institute of Communication is quite solid. We do get a bunch of internship opportunities & placement opportunities based on alumni recommendations. However I can't say much about this as I do not have first hand experience since my batch hasnt had the opportunity to sit for placements yet.
Yes placements are very good a lot of companies come to our College like Biju's, Viacom, Wizcraft and many more. They do provide interships, you can be an intern for the college or the faculty will get you an intership according to your portfolio.
Though I personally still haven't sat for any placement sessions (as I'm still in the first year), the placements go really well and almost all the students get good jobs. Well known companies come every year.
The first and second years aren't entitled to placements just as yet. The theirs years recently were given internships for Calvin Klein and more. Due to the knowledge provided by MIC, I believe that good placements are ready to be handed over to the students.
Our college does provide internships during the semester break. Placements are also being provided. The highest package for placements was said to provide 6-7 where as till date no company has offered more than 4 lakhs.
