I was interested in fashion design, but I wasn't getting it in the top 5 centres so I shifted to knitwear Design, both being similar courses. In college, we have one mentor for every 4-5 students. Not all faculties are great but some of them are really nice. And if you have any doubt or confusion, all of them are always ready to help you out. For the first two parts, we have to do the only submission of the given assignments. For the end term, we have a jury where teachers review and roast our work so get real life experience for when we work in the industry. There are too many submissions and mostly you'll get less time to sleep when the jury nears, but at the end of the day, it's worth it.
the fees is payable every semester, i.e twice a year. The fees in the fist semester of the year is a little more than that of the second time as certain fees like library fees, lab fees and facilities fees is payable once a year. There is a 10% - 20% increment in fees every year. The fees ranges fron Rs.60,000 - 80,000 every semester.
Fee structure is quite expensive for the NIFT. Fee Structure will be like 9-10 lakhs for designing. And its not at all feasible and its is quite expensive when compared to other colleges.the fee will be Increased by 10 % every year under the NIFT act. So the Fee will be increasing by 10% every year.
Its quite expensive now. Fee structure during our time used to be 25k for every semester plus hostel and other expenses. Fee had drastically increased just when we thankfully passed out. And its four times multiplied now. I am not sure of very detailed structure.
Comparing to other arts and engineering colleges, the fees is a bit high but still at the end of your degree you will not remember how much you have spent in college, because the degree from Nift matters a lot and you can easily get back your fees money from your salary.
