Entrance Preview :
I wrote Nift entrance exam and got selected. I scored 125th rank in all over India. We have to get selected in two entrance exams to get selected in Nift. Nift is a national level college in fashion industry. Nift will give a platform for your career and to your life as well.
Course Curriculum Overview :
My elective is leather design, and we will be learning about leather garments, footwear, accessories. We will be doing research on the latest trend and future trend and will do our design collection according to our own creativity. Our collection can have any product like garment or footwear or all in own collection.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, in Nift we have internships during our college internship will be for 3 months and we have to do our graduation project for 6 months which totally have 9 months of industry experience for us. Stipend depends on the company and average we will get around 10k per month.
Placement Experience :
Placement in Nift is good, many companies in our field will come for the placement, we have to match their expectations and our portfolio will speak about our work and you have to speak about you. Depends on the job role we will be placed and the package will depend on the job profile and your skill only.
College Events :
Our college fest is a all time wanted celebration time for all colleges. Our cultural is known as spectrum, its a cultural fest where other colleges too join with us to have fun, other than this we will celebrate all the national festivals like Deepavali, Pongal, Holi, Onam, Independance day, republic day etc. We have our inter centers cultures too.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Comparing to other arts and engineering colleges, the fees is a bit high but still at the end of your degree you will not remember how much you have spent in college, because the degree from Nift matters a lot and you can easily get back your fees money from your salary.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
We have all kind of scholarships like subsidy and other scholarships. We don't have loan facility, but still college will support you if we prefer for loan through our own.
Campus Life :
Though its a fashion college, people will think that there will be only girls, but Nift stands outside this box and we will have exactly 50% of both genders. Nift campus teaches you how to handle things in both positive and negative aspects a Niftian can manage any kind of situation. Nift is famous for its extracurricular activities. we have all kind of relaxations apart from our general work. Nift is a place where you can stay with people all over the India. You can see North Indian, South Indian, North East people even NRI students in our college there wont be any caste partition or racism in our college.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels in Nift is a nice and safe place to stay for a girl or a boy who is new to the place. We have separate hostels for girls and boys. Apart from the hostel if you prefer for PG, you can get good pg's near the college itself. It will cost around 2k you can share the room with your friends and have fun.
Alumni/Alumna :
Obviously contact with our seniors will help us in our career. We can get job offers and get to know the job opening through them. We even have a Facebook page for Nift alumina where they will be posting the job vacancies all over India and international offers too. From the college the bond between the senior and junior will continue.
Exam Structure :
Exams in Nift is something different from others, you wont be writing pages and pages of answers instead of you will be enjoying with group of externals with their random questions on your collection which you have not thought of before. There is so much of last minute works during our exams. We have to present our collection to the externals which we call them as jury and jury members. We have to display all we have done and we do decorate our show boards as well with manikins.
Faculty :
Faculties are really good and well experienced too, they will teach us in a very practical way and they are technically strong enough to put our foundation strong. They will be very helpful and supportive to do our work and collection in a right way.
