Sneak peak into nift life

Dislikes

  • There is not much that i have disliked here. Basic hostel problems and mess food sometimes are not eatable. Which is common everywhere
  • Our junior director and director sir are great and very supportive of student council which represents us. Sometimes, are demands may go unheard but they specially specify reasons for same.

Course Curriculum Overview :

For me, textile industry is far most one of the important industry in the world. I don't really understand why people don't appreciate it enough. I was always eager to learn how a garment manufacturing unit works. My childlike mind used to think one person had to stitch so many garments. But lucky enough, I am studying this course and it has given me all the knowledge and idea about a textile industry. Here, industry exposure is also given to you. Regular visits to unit or cluster are arranged by our faculties. The frequency of exams are alright here. In between a sem, two midterms happen and at the end jury/endterm happens. If you are aware what is going on in your class, you will get through all of it very easily.

Internships Opportunities :

For bftech, you will have to complete your internship as a part of curriculum from your 2nd year onwards. You will have to search for the best industry and apply for it yourself. In case, you don't get anywhere, faculties help you to get one somewhere, not the best probably.

Placement Experience :

Placement are okay. People do get placed here, but the frequency and the packages are low. If one has acquired talent to go off campus, the chances are good. Personally, I will myself go for campus placement, hoping for good package.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

See, usually the tuition fee is supposed to be 3lacs for a year. But including Library fees and exam fee, the fee exceeds upto more than 1.5 lacs in one semester only. And this is just for the course. Although, scholarship and several schemes are available, you just have to be eligible for that.

Campus Life :

The campus life is great here. So many activities and sports and dj nights and events are held here. There is also a yearly trek organised here. So many tournaments keep happening, inter department, inter year, etc.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel here is pretty good. You get a decent two sharing room with a cot, almirah and a table, chair. It's decent. Quite hygienic and okay. The problem may occur in washroom uses, but only during peak hours(college timings) otherwise it is good. The meal provided are also fine. Just during peak summers, quality degrades.

Admission :

For bftech course , you need to be a pcm student in class 12. You have to appear for the nift entrance exam. The question paper is quite easy, they don't ask you fashion related questions (that's what I got to know during my exams), just a general ability test including maths, English, logical reasoning, and general knowledge. One can get reservation benefit during the cut off and final admission process.

Faculty :

For my course, the faculty here are the best. They are very knowledgeable and supportive. They encourage class interactions and are very open minded. They understand our situation very responsibly. They are always available at the department or via messages also to guide us.

Remarks:

I could say it's the best college in Hyderabad to take up the design courses. The college provide good education apart from that it has guest lectures from the famous people in the industry and exhibitions to show up the students teamwork and strength and self confidence, seminars and workshops where we can learn the new , and find the new. It has digital classroom to enhance the learning and for clarity of the concepts. They even take us for site visits. Learn, create , believe.
