I chose B.Sc in Food Science and Nutrition Management a 3-year undergraduate course. I chose this course because I love to know more and more about food. You need to be from the science stream or else you get a compulsory remedial course in 1st semester. We get monthly assignments for each subject. The faculty is highly qualified in their own subjects and some teachers are alumni themselves. Teachers are expertise and their lectures include practical experiences, industry visits, visual aids etc.
Nutrition is a branch of science that deals more with prevention than cure. So I found this course to perfectly suit my psyche. Faculty-student ratio in JDBI is quite good. The teachers are very well qualified with their respective fields of studies and employ efficient teaching techniques. Our semester exams occur at 6 months interval and with adequate preparation one can pass them all.
I had a background of biology so I chose it and I was interested in this course too. Student: teacher ratio is 100:1. All faculty members are highly educated and professional. Most of the faculty members have done PhD. Semesters exam are held within due respect of time and paper is quite moderate.
The faculty is very knowledgeable and approachable. They are all very experienced in the food industry and provide great assistance to all the students. It is a mix of friendly and serious, which gives the students the best of both worlds and prepares them for industrialization as well. All the faculty members have master's degrees. Some even have a Ph.D. This provides great resources for the students and the teachers give them a first-hand industrial perspective as well
Before corona, the fee structure depended more on the no. of practical classes present in that semester. On an average, per semester fees were above 20000. No idea about the presence of any scholarship or financial assistance. No job on campus with stipend.
Professors here are qualified and knowledgeable enough. The course curriculum is the best which you can get in a graduate degree. It has a holistic approach and focuses on giving practical knowledge. We were given assignments and projects for every subject which dealt with the current market scenario.
The fee structure is feasible as compared to other colleges. It changes every year as per inflation. The modes of payment are bank deposit, NEFT, etc. There are no additional fees in order to secure an admission. There is complete transparency in the fee-breakdown.
The fee it's a bit expensive. But it's not unaffordable. The fee structure changes every years and you'll be spending around 3 lakhs on the entire course, and the college does not provide hostel facility. I wouldn't say it's too expensive though be ready to spend wisely on the college assignments.
