Students have frequency exam every month. Their we have quiz 1, mid-semester examination, Quiz 2 and End-semester examination. Teachers have their Teaching Assistant with them to help students to clear their doubts.

The course curriculum is really interesting and very in-depth. But as I mentioned it's quite hard. Some faculty do make it more hard by teaching quite advanced stuff. Some even don't grade well. But it is all the choice to learn better and better. So they teach well and one can understand well if they are interested in learning. Teaching methods are blackboard-based. Some teachers make things very interesting by doing lab visits or explaining in quite interactive ways. Some give programming assignments, some take challenging quizzes, and course homework problems which are sometimes a nightmare but they are to enjoy the subjects. Generally, for core courses, there are 4 exams for each course. For elective courses, the professor can choose any number of exams, or even no exam if he wants. They can decide their way of grading the students, either viva or something another way like programming, homework, etc. the four exams are # quizzes and one sem and one end sem.

The course curriculum for first year is almost same as any other tier 1 collages. However from second years onwards the course are heading towards particular field of interest and are research oriented

The curriculum's strong foundation in core disciplines such as physics chemistry and maths was a major factor in my decision to choose this The rigorous coursework coupled with opportunities for research and innovation equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for advanced studies.

The curriculum is well structured, covering a wide range of topics in science and research. The interdisciplinary research and the active research oriented study will influence the students to take part and will built future scientists who are both academically and industrialy capable.

The curriculum is well structured and the difficulty increases as the study year increases. The curriculum is structured for research students and that is what attracted me to this college as compared to other science colleges. The college provides a lot of scholarships as well. The curriculum from the third year onwards gives us an idea of what topics we should do our PhD in and also the professors help us in finding colleges to do PhD from. We have two internal tests one mid sem and one end sem examination. The internal test have a weightage of 20% together the mid sem has a weightage of 30% and the end sem has a weightage of 50%. The grades in the first two years are relative while from third year onwards it becomes absolute grading. the curriculum is purely research based and all the topics taught have various experiments which has to be done to be understood. All the books used are of great researchers and professors like gilbert strang, JD Lee, shriver atkins, cunningham so on.

The lab work course helps to learn a lot and see the problems that we usually don't see while learning theoretically. IISER bhopal provides 6 lab courses for chemistry department along with the complete 5th year which is based on your thesis. The professors with the PhD students help the undergraduate students learn practically. The equipments are in ample amount and are in good condition. The curriculum is designed in such a way that the prerequisite courses are already taught and you don't face difficulty in understanding them although it partially depends on the professors that your batch is alloted. Open elective and departmental elective criteria is given once the majors are assigned in which you can take some courses of your interest which is different from the course work. The difficulty level of the exams are quite high compared to the other institutions as professors don't prefer application based on formula questions rather more abstract knowledge is appreciated.
One of my friends studied at IISER Bhopal, he had a science background as well. According to him, it is his best decision in life. He, being a student there, mentioned that it is really good for sciences.
But like everything else it has its own flaws. Many IISERs have issues with the attendance system, hostel facilities, etc. Overall if you join any IISER and have an interest in Science, you will not be disappointed.
