Department of Business Administration Tezpur University was founded in the year 1995. It works with a vision “to be a coveted knowledge hub of management education for creating socially responsible global citizens”. The institute is affiliated with Tezpur University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It has been ranked 98th by Business Today (BT) 2023 under Top B-Schools category. It offers MBA, Diploma and Ph.D. programs for its students. Admission to the MBA program is based on national level entrance exams such as CAT, MAT. While for Ph.D., Tezpur University conducts its own exam.

At present the Department is running Doctoral Program (Full time and Part time), Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Full time), Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management and the Department introduces Master of Tourism and Travel Management from Autumn 2016.

Department of Business Administration Tezpur University Admission
The admission is done through online mode. Interested and eligible candidates can submit the application form on the official website of the institute. To be eligible for admission to any of the programs, applicants should have a graduate degree in relevant discipline with not less than 50% marks from a recognized university or institute.
Candidates are selected on the basis of CAT/ MAT score. Based on their performance in the CAT/MAT, shortlisted applicants will be called for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Final selection is based on the overall performance of candidates.
CAT
Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national level online test which is conducted for admission to MBA program. As per CAT Eligibility, applicants should have a graduate degree. CAT Registration is done through online mode. CAT 2019 has been scheduled tentatively on November 24, 2019, by IIM Kozhikode. After the declaration of CAT Result, on the basis of their marks secured in CAT, applicants can apply for the MBA program in the Department of Business Administration Tezpur University.
MAT
MAT (Management Aptitude Test) is held for admissions to MBA/PGDM programs. It is a national level online / offline test which is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) four times a year (February, May, September, and December). The library at the university has a rich and ever-increasing collection of texts and reference books available for the students and faculty members. The Departmental computer center is installed with the latest high-end computer laced with the latest hardware and software technologies. Each computer is connected with high-speed internet and the students can access the laboratory anytime they feel the need for it. The maximum number of departmental premises is connected with Wi-Fi and the classrooms are web-enabled and connected through hi-speed LAN.

Admission:
After graduating with B.com( accountancy) I have got admission into the 2 year full time MBA programme in Tezpur university. I have secured admission through MAT December 2020 . The minimum eligibility criteria for the course is any graduate or equivalent with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. The candidates are shortlisted based on their performance on any of these eligibility test- MAT/CAT/CMAT/XAT .The admission process started with online application through university portal. After getting shortlisted based on the MAT score online GD/PI was held and final merit list was issued in the university website itself. My overall admission experience was very good. After getting admission my first semester classes were held in online mode and second semester classes were held in blended mode due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
