There are 8 university hostels for ladies and 7 for men. All facilities are given in the best way possible compared to the other private hostels. There is a hostel curfew till 11. Food is average but can be improved through continuous complaining.
Hostel facilities are generally provided to 3rd-4th year students. Students can register on the hostel's official site of Cusat. Generally,1st-3rd yr students accommodate in private hostels or flats nearby on the campus.
The university provides accomodation facilities for male and female students in the university hostels. International students are accomodated in a premium facility, Adhithi Bhavan. Sahara hostel, which was my home for two years, provides seperate canteens for North indian and South indian inmates. The menu of the canteens are designed according to need of inmates. The students who are staying outside the hostels are also admitted in hostel canteens. Inamtes are provided with amentities like wifi connection and water purifiers. The hostels are guarded by securities 24|7 and any attempts of ragging are strictly prohibited in hostels. The campus is surrounded by many PGs and restaurants and the natives are in perfect harmony with the student community. The university hostels are highly affordable and admissions are allocated on priority basis. All festivals like Onam, Holi, Christmas and ramadan are celebrated in a grand manner through out the hostels.
There is portal for applying and allotment of hostel for every semester there is separate hostel for boys and girl Most hostels are apart from each other. Mess is run by students of 3rd year that's why food is very good in quality mostly for North India.
The hostel rooms are allotted based on reservations, CAT rank and the distance from permanent address. The hostel rooms are not very neat. The rooms are shared by 3 students and can have upto 3 guests in one room. There are several college hostels within the campus. The monthly rent is Rs. 500 for general and almost nothing for OEC or SC/ST students. The boys hostel does not have a curfew. However, girls hostel will close their gates at 9:30 pm.
yes, the hostel facilities is quite good but not so attractive. there are 4-5 boy hostel and 3-4 girls hostel. the infrastructure is good. But the college should give more concern on infrastructure of the hostel
One of my friends is from CUSAT SOE. I can provide his experience during his first year at the CUSAT hostel.
In case you do not get a hostel then you can try outside hostels which are located nearby to the college.
