A college with green nature

Remarks :

Union strikes sometimes makes a bad note else I will say it is a great center for learning managements does not play tight role with studies so hardly it matters.

Entrance Preview :

CUSAT-CAT consists of written exam (two papers Maths | Science). Admission is based on rank wise. First ever campus with Information technology in India.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course structure are well structured with practical sessions and followed with projects, seminars, presentations, war-rooms. with the course structure there is always a room for research. Professors are easily accessible and highly cooperative and motivates in writing research papers.

Internships Opportunities :

But we easily get internships in PSU's, DRDO, DMRC, some big IT giants, IIT institutions etc. Stipends depends on organisations. Experience is 3 years or final semester.

Placement Experience :

IT placement is overall great with 150+% with maximum package ~12Lpa average package ~3.5-4 Lpa. Core branches takes GATE and opt for PSU. However placement is neither good nor bad. Safety and Fire stream placements offers upto 13-16Lpa max and average is 6+LPA even if you have backlogs. Ship Technology has very high offers includes foreign placements and avg package is ~15LPA(India). Photonics too has great foreign placements or study offers.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Feasible, In-fact very low compared to other colleges fees are very low, and hostel and accommodation fees is only <500 a month. College fee: ~20000 per semester for general, 12000 per semester for general Kerala students and less than 1000 per semester for reserved category.

Scholarship are available from state government as per India govt norms loan are easily available from banks. However for loans and scholarships have to be applied by self. No loan counters available at campus.

Campus Life :

Campus life is great with green nature surrounded with fresh airs, trees, flowers. The most I enjoyed is rain. Gender ration overall good but in few branches it is zero (like mechanical, marine, ship tech, safety and fire). Diversity, there is always a room to expand extracurricular, labs, sports, competitions such as robotics, debates etc all are maintained and I say they keep us motivated and engaged.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel rooms are not as per world class if you compare with other colleges rooms are very simple with 24X7 electricity facilities. Rooms and mess is well maintained and cleanness maintained. Hostel includes a large open area with badminton, table tennis, volley-ball , badminton courts with night flood lights.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni network is very strong. They can be found on linked and we use linked to meet our seniors any time and they are available to respond.

Exam Structure :

Yes Exams and labs are very frequent. Its hectic in early semesters but after we enjoy as it goes too smooth and we enjoy and we keep energetic for next days labs and exams. Classroom exams (other than mid / end semesters) sometimes makes us exhausted.

Mostly the students get prepared for placements in the third year. Placement training is usually started in the mid of the third year. According to the passed out students and our seniors, the institution has enough good placements compared to other private institutions. The students get placed in MNCs like IBM, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, SAP, Wipro, CTS, IBS, UST Global, Government and Public Sector companies like BARC, ONGC, Powergrid, Delhi Metro and commercial banks like Federal Bank, South Indian Bank, Core Engineering companies like MRF, Apollo Tyres, Sobha, Procsys, Kalkitech etc speaks volumes about the professional excellence of students. The major activities of the Placement and Training Cell include coordinating the Campus placement activities of the college Conducting regular training for improving the soft-skills and conducting regular tests, GD`s and Mock Interviews. The major thrust area of the placement cell is training programs. Every student undergoes at least 150 hours of training programs which is spread across the years of study. They are trained by the best in the industry. Career guidance and placement orientation is ensured through sessions organised in-house and support from experts from outside. Guidance on how to prepare for various competitive exams like GATE, CAT, MAT, GRE, UPSC, PG entrance examinations etc. are also provided. Despite the economic uncertainties and industry challenges, the Class of 2024 achieved remarkable success in campus recruitment. A total of 78 students secured packages of 7LPA or more, with 484 offers from 76 companies. The highest package reached 15LPA, while the average package stood at a respectable 5.7LPA. Notable recruiters included TCS, CTS, SAP, Tataelxsi, People10, SOTI, UST, and Qburst. Placement Experience:

There are many programs to improve our placement capabilities. These programs provide spoken English classes and PMKVY Yojana classes. S6 and S7 students have the opportunity to attend placement sessions. The average package that the companies usually provide is 200,000 per annum. Usually, 10-15 students get placed in the first session, and the rest will be considered in the other upcoming sessions. I'm planning to do ethical hacking course after the degree
