I think after third trimester, we are eligible for summer internships. I guess most of I'll say 7080% of the students were on internship after fourth trimester, which is a good thing and see again. I don't have a bad profile but for HR67 of us were having a placement of 4.5 to 5.5, which is good for a batch of. I think we were around 40 so yeah, my final placement as of now is 6LPA, so which is good for a tier three college, it's really good. I am in my second job now after during my PTM only, so I finished 1.5 years with one company, I have joined full time with the second one. So I plan to stick around.

Faculty:

The faculty cohort at XLRI is extremely knowledgeable, well read, and highly educated. Everyone has their own way of teaching. Some traditional and some modern, but all of them effective nonetheless. Some teachers are quite advanced in their teaching methods and make use of technology, whereas Some rely on old school tools. But most professors are researchers who have published papers and hold doctorate degrees or are in the course of securing a doctorate. The teacher to student ratio is favourable, although not the best. But all professors are extremely approachable barring a few, all teachers' email ID and contact is available on the student portal and professors staying on campus also makes a huge difference. Some professors go on ti devote extra time on students struggling. Their support is massive

Campus Life:

The campus life in terms of engagement was quite good. They have couple of famous events like EV which is the annual cultural fest and Maxi Bazaar which is a disguised research project. Apart from these there are about 25 committees on campus run by students spanning various interests and specialties. The campus is well-quipped with two gyms, a football ground, a cricket ground, basketball courts, badminton courts, table tennis rooms, and a pool room. As mentioned before we have a 23*7 library with unlimited access to resources. The technology in classrooms is good, each dest having it's own electric portal and LAN port.

I choose this course because I wanted to start a business and for that, I need management skills. There are 10 faculty members for all the courses and the students are around 30 members. The qualification of the faculty should be a minimum MBA and there are also a few PhD faculty. The term exams are once every 3 months and the difficulty is moderate, around 80-85% of students pass in every term exam.

I haven't been because our campus is opening in a month due to covid, but based on the assessments of the seniors, it is in a posh neighbourhood with lush green surroundings and three sports arenas on the school itself for recreation. Several groups and committees are available at the college to help students improve their leadership skills and become successful businesspeople.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I enrolled in IMI because the professors and exposure were excellent, and I had always been drawn to the topic of human resources. Some of them have served on the boards of directors of reputable businesses and multinational corporations in India and overseas, where they assisted in the development of those businesses' competency frameworks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the HRM program because XLRI's HR program is the best in India and Asia-Pacific region apart from having an inclination toward HR as a career. The cases that are being taught here are from Harvard University. Each subject consists of Quiz, Mid-Term, and End-Term, along with assignments and projects. The faculties are very brilliant in their field and also have unique teaching styles. Some of the faculties served as consultants to some of the big organizations in the country. They keep themselves as well as students aware of the current market scenarios so that students can do better in their careers post their studies. If a student indulges in the daily study then it is not difficult to pass the exams. Also, the faculties focus more on the implementation of concepts rather than the concepts in the exams.

Campus Life:

XLRI campus life is a roller-coaster ride. The hostels are well furnished with study tables, wardrobes, etc. There are many clubs that the students can join as per their interests or hobbies. The clubs are divided into Functional, Co-Curricular, Extra-Curricular, and Interest Groups. XLRI boasts about its state-of-the-art infrastructure including the library which contains both digital and physical copies of the books along with two Learning Centres where classes are being held. Each class have proper amenities like Projectors, central AC, etc. to help in the proper conduction of classes.

Campus Life:

Campus life is worth living. After all the hectic classes conducted in Learning Centers throughout the day, the evenings spent at Dadu's, Campus Café, and Bishu's are ones I can never forget. There are multiple E-journals, HBR articles, Euromonitor, research papers, etc. facilities available in the library as the budget spent per student is around INR 1L. The college is spread across 50 acres with four main hostel buildings, residential facilities for the faculty, and an International Center for visitors on the campus. There are multiple clubs and social groups like SIGMA and Samarthya for students promoting giving back to society. EV fests and MAXI fairs are the big events conducted by inviting various artists and colleges for multiple competitions, especially in sports and marketing.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The cost to study is typically on the higher end, but it's worth it due to the brand the XLRI has established for itself throughout these 75 years. However, multiple financial assistance is available to a student as XLRI discounts can avail education loan at a lower interest rate than the market through SBI Bank. Moreover, numerous scholarships are available to an XLer, like Mirae Asset Foundation Scholarship, IDFC First Bank Scholarship, etc. The fees are also compensated by the ROI a candidate receives through Internships and Placement offers. As the average internship offer was around 1.54L for 2022.

Campus Life:

The campus life at XLRI is quite lively and student-driven. The annual cultural fest Ensemble Valhalla is conducted in the month of November and sees healthy participation from students. Apart from this, every committee conducts its own flagship event which tests students' skills and stamina throughout the year. The Jahangir Gandhi memorial library houses a collection of books and journals which can be accessed both offline as well as online. Students are offered subscriptions to case studies and publications from around the business world. The classes for the first year are conducted in Learning Centre 2 which offers a number of facilities such as AC classrooms, a mic for students and teachers alike, etc. Facilities for basketball, football, and tennis are available inside the campus. A committee like FIREAX, SAPPHIRE, and DRACULA gives ample opportunity to students to showcase team building. XLRI houses its own investment fund managed by students themselves.

Course Curriculum Overview:

XLRI HRM program is considered to be the best of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region. Its alumna is currently serving in CHRO roles in diverse industries. The course follows a healthy mix of theoretical and application-based case pedagogy. While students are familiarised with knowledge of courses like Micro/Macro Economics, Quantitative Aptitude, etc, they are also put to test with application-based courses like Performance Management, Wage Determination, and Strategic management. The student-to-faculty ratio sits at 9:1 which ensures proper learning. Most of the teachers have completed their Ph.D./FPM from IIMs across India as well as abroad. Most of the classes are driven through healthy student participation where they are required to arrive at the solution to the problem presented by the faculty. XLRI follows the trimester model where exams are held after every 3 months. The curriculum is rigorous and it is generally difficult to pass.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

There are multiple scholarships: OPJEMS, Aditya Birla scholarship etc. There are about 200+ companies that visit campus for placement activities for SIPs as well as final placements. The cost of studying is expensive. It's almost 12.5 lakh for a year. However there are multiple associations with banks, so banks like SBI, Central bank of India etc. are more than happy to offer financial assistance through loans. The interest is usually around 7-8%, so it's affordable enough. Since there are placement opportunities, everyone gets placed with decent jobs so finance is not really an issue.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Exams were timed pretty decently. We had an organisation-specific exam portal where our exams happened in the first sem (due to COVID). Exams in offline mode are conducted pretty decently. There's only been once a case where there's an administrative issue. The difficulty of exam papers depends on the professors. They are given full authority to set the question paper. Question paper pattern is objective or subjective based on the professor, but they are based on practical knowledge we learnt in classroom sessions. Few professors prefer case-based exams.

Ques. What should be preference order of IMT Ghaziabad courses- PGDM, PGDM marketing, PGDM finance, PGDM DCP, PGDM banking, insurance and financial services?

● Top Answer By Dhruv Chatterjee on 25 Jan 23

Ans. IMT Ghaziabad offers a variety of courses that cater to various specializations. These courses have been listed and explained in their order of preference PGDM Marketing/PGDM Full Time (Marketing): This is the most coveted program among IMT students mainly because today its alumni have acquired top positions in big firms. Other major reasons include top-notch faculty, great internship and placement opportunities in terms of role and CTC, IMT’s eligibility, and excellent performances in recognized marketing and strategy B Schools competitions. PGDM Finance/PGDM Full Time (Finance): This one is most suitable for aspirants who are interested in Finance. However, this program offers lesser opportunities than the Marketing program in terms of role and CTC.  PGDM Full Time (Operations): This program offers opportunities similar to that of Finance. But the batch size of PGDM Operations is smaller than PGDM Finance, so it may be easier to secure an internship/final placement, but the opportunities come less compared to Finance. PGDM DCP: DCP or the Dual Country Program is for those who are keen to get international exposure. Compared to an MBA from a foreign university, this program is cheaper and yet offers an opportunity to explore a different culture and learn to make decisions in an international context. This is best suitable for those who are in the Marketing domain. PGDM Banking and Financial Services (PGDM-BFS): This program was launched in 2019 and is relatively newer. It targets the core Banking and Finance sector. While the MBA program aims to provide a holistic view of management, this program solely focuses on Banking and Finance. PGDM Full Time (HR): This is the least taken course and offers very less in terms of opportunities. The courses have been arranged preference-wise so will make it easy for you to choose one.Read more

Ques. Which course in TAPMI is better, the core PGDM, the HRM, or BKFS?

● Top Answer By Divya Kaur on 02 May 23

Ans. What's most important is that you enjoy it. The BKFS program is highly specialized and designed to equip students with the tools necessary to succeed in any financial-related field. The PGDM's first year emphasizes variety over specialization. Two years into the program, you'll have the option to focus on either Marketing, Operations, or Finance. It's up to you to determine the kind of career you want to have. Everything in the new system will be up to the individual, replacing both the major and minor systems. Although the HR course is brand new, it will be just as rigorous and cover the same ground as other courses.Read more
