Course Details
Asutosh College offers three-year B.Sc and BA course as Honors/ Major/ General/ in various disciplines. BBA course is only offered as an Honors course.
Candidates applying should have passed HSC with minimum 50% marks for an Honors course with 45% marks in the subjects in which the application is sought. Similarly, for General course candidate should have passed HSC with 40% marks.
Selection to each UG course is on the basis of merit list. Merit list is drawn considering candidate’s marks in top four subjects in the qualifying exam i.e. HSC. Admission to BBA (Hons.) is done on the basis of GD/PI.

Key Points:
- Applicant should have compulsorily passed English in HSC or equivalent.
- Candidate shall not be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 5 years in education from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.
- However, the year of admission shall not be taken into account while calculating this 5 year period.
- 5% relaxation is given to SC/ ST candidates in the qualifying exam criteria

Course Curriculum Overview:
The college is affiliated to Calcutta University so the syllabus for all the subjects are same as any other college under C.U. What makes the college stand apart is it's faculty members. The professors here are extremely cooperative; they provide all the necessary materials required to prepare for the semester exams. They also organize various seminars and conferences for better understanding of the topics.

The aspects of curriculum that influence me to choose the course is to gain knowledge. The curriculum prepared me to know the real world very much. The areas of improvement is depend on previous class 12 subject. The frequency of exam is easy to moderate sometimes it's didifficult. I like this couse so much so I choose it.

- It is totally a ragging free campus. Where the seniors are like friend with the juniors.
- 28 departments are there in our college. Where the labortary of geography department is just mind blowing.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I have interest in geography from school. So I took it in my higher education. It also have various scope in future. Students get various knowledge of earth from this course. We also get field work from here. College organizes excursion for the students were the students go and do survey house to house gathering lot of information. We also get chances to apply for UPSC in future where geography plays a important role in preparation of the students.

- There a lots of books in both the libraries to study from.
- Infrastructure is great. There is a canteen, different labs, a huge hall where events are held, even the classrooms themselves are big.
Dislikes
- I have not, yet, found anything regarding this college that I can dislike

I already had my interests in Geography, so I chose this subject as my honors subject. I have exams within next week and I can say, my department has prepared and helped me pretty well. They taught very well and have provided all the necessary notes and study materials.

- The campus of this college is pretty okayish. The air conditioning is good in the IT building. Classes take place almost daily.
- The seniors in asutosh College are very helpful and friendly. They provide us with a lot of resources and help us in every way.
Dislikes
- Notes should be provided more for some subjects. It will be a lot more easier to catch up with studies.
- The campus should be a bit more distributed and put together. The college buildings are a bit too scattered.

The course I chose in this college is ba history hons This course gives me an apple amount of opportunity to meet the requirements of my career plan This course is fairly easy for me as I have chosen this course with the confidence that I can perform well in it.

I chose this course because I love literature and I adore Rabindranath Tagore and Shakespeare. There are above 100 students in our class and our department is also called the most glamorous department of our college.

Fees are paid yearly.as it is a government college fees are not so high. Most of them can afford it. Arts students fees are less as compared with the science students.Fee structure is as follows- admission fee, tution fee, library fee,lab fee etc

Being a government college, the fee structure is very much student friendly. Apart from the self financed courses, like Microbiology, students have to pay below ?5000 for a year. In similar private colleges in the city, the course fee ranges above ?30,000/year.
