Some subjecs have very good curriculum while some have irrelevant syllabus Like engineering graphics is taught to every branch in first year while in some other iiits and nits it is not even a subject for electrical branch.

The electrical and electronics engineering curriculum typically includes courses like circuit analysis, electronics, power systems, digital signal processing, and control systems. These subjects give students a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles and their real-world applications. Keep in mind that the actual curriculum might differ based on the university and program.

The curriculum is fine, we study all the subjects relevant to electrical engineering but no new industry-needed subjects. Practicals are very undervalued with nobody taking them seriously. The lab situation is terrible, no explanation is given as to why we perform the experiment, how to perform the experiment and how is it relevant to the subjects. Overall we learn nothing from practicals. Teachers are also not good at teaching. In Sessionals, marks can be obtained by teachers class notes but final exams are a hit or a miss. There are 3 exams for theory subjects: Minor 1, Minor 2 and Final. Minor are best of 2 for 30 marks. Final for 50 marks and 20 marks internal including assignment and quiz. It's really hard to get good grades. The semester is shorter than 6 months and there a lot of bunks which is quite nice.

If you ask about the teachers , they are strict ofcourse . Overall the course is beneficial from the future perspective but the teachers that are in the branch are the most hated part . They don't give proper marks at all . And if you ask about any other branch be it mechanical, IT , ECE the teachers are lenient. The teachers no doubt teach good but the behaviour they show towards children is depressing for me till now.

UIET Chandigarh's BE EEE course curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in electrical and electronics engineering concepts and practical skills. The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including mathematics, physics, electronics, power systems, control systems, electrical machines, and renewable energy sources. The course also includes laboratory work, projects, and industry internships, which provide hands-on experience and practical skills. The curriculum is regularly updated to keep up with the latest developments in the field and to meet industry needs. As for the faculty members, UIET Chandigarh has a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members who are experts in their respective fields. The faculty members are dedicated to providing high-quality education and guidance to students. They use a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities, to engage students and facilitate their learning.

In the given semester there will be two minor exams and 1 Major exam. There consists of an internal assessment also which includes Viva, Quizzes and assignments. Minor exam marks are given on best of two, it comprises 30 Marks. Major comprises 50 marks and internal assessment includes 20 marks. These all combined to make 100.
The course is well-designed and planned. The timing of classes is from 10 AM to 4 PM generally. All the facilities are PhDs from reputed universities. Talking about exams there are 2 minors and 1 University exam or final exam.
I am pursuing Electrical and Electronics Engineering from UIET Chandigarh. Students faculty ratio is 6 in Uiet .All facilities are PhDs in theris respective subjects. There are two Miners and One Final exam in every semester. Miners are very esay to pass but for final exams you need to study.
See if you are not getting a decent college like NIT oriit and also if you have financial issue then you can definitely come to this college because this college provides good development and also give decent package in previous the highest packages for 42 lekhs and average was also 7lpa and all are on campus companies visit here and and city Chandigarh so it is considered as a good good location to enjoy .faculties are good and you should also considered the fact that in engineering colleges wherever you go you have to study on your own only but should teachers here are helpful faculty are good if you and you can also get some internship opportunities if you are a good student you if you ask doubt from the teachers nobody will deny you and they are ready to always help you and it teaching methodology is also good and and the best part is here you have one semester examination and 2 mid semester examination and the best of the two of the mid semester examination will be considered.
UIET comes under Panjab University therefore exam dates are same as for whole University. But there is a catch UIET conducts theory exams in two parts - minors & majors. UIET conducts minors two times in a particular semester and major only once. Minor are of 30 marks each and best out of two will be considered for your final evaluation. Majors are of 50 marks and 10 marks are compulsory to grab to get passed in majors. Total passing marks are 40/100 in each paper. Now comes practical exams these are of 50 marks each. You will sail through it easily as this is the time where you actually learn something related to your field. One more thing it doesn't matter if you get a supply in any exam you just need to maintain your credit points in total so that you won't get a back for whole year.
A good friend of mine has pursued EEE in UIET from Chandigarh. I reached out to him to catch up with some details and the latest facts.
If you are wanting to go for IT/CSE- UIET, Chandigarh is a great choice. But if you want to pursue EEE at UIET, then it is not a good choice. If we talk about the placement scenario over there, barely one or two core companies show up for that. A bunch of candidates ends up getting placed in the IT sector- which isn't worth it.
Here are the recent placement statistics for the EEE branch at UIET.

Opting for any other engineering college would be a better choice if you want to go for EEE. But then, if you have decided to strictly adhere to UIET, perhaps check out other branches like Chemical Engineering, CSE as they come along with a fine set of faculty and better placement stats.
The choice between CSE and EEE is subjective and totally depends on you. Keep aside your confusion about these colleges and give a thought to what you want to pursue by outlining the major factors that drive your interest the most.
You should rather explore the curriculum, campus, placements, packages offered, faculty, etc. of both the colleges in that particular field.
Both UIET Hoshiarpur and UIET Chandigarh provide a degree from Punjab University. I guess the highlighted difference you would find are the cities in which they are located and the campus life. Here’s a brief insight into the courses.

The question here arises whether or not you want to pursue higher studies after going for EEE. EEE in UIET would not provide you with good placements. Go for CSE at Hoshiarpur if you have no other options.
You can consider other options too if you have them.
