JMC Selection Criteria

Admission to all the above-mentioned courses (except for B.El.Ed.) is based on merit.
Admission to B.El.Ed. will be granted on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam.
The merit will be decided on the basis of the percentage secured in the Best Four subjects in the 10+2 examinations.

Procedure for calculation of ‘Best Four’ subjects percentage for Honours Courses:

Percentage will be calculated on the basis of English and three other academic subjects.
All subjects to be included in the calculation of ‘Best Four’ must have at least a 70% theory component of the exam.
If the subject to be considered does not have a 70% theory component and 30% practical component, then the marks of theory and practical shall be converted to 70% and 30%, respectively on a pro-rata basis.

The campus facilities like park, seating area, clean restrooms
Amazing, genuine faculty, who not only taught well but also maintained a healthy and approachable relationship with students

Dislikes

The lack of exposure to placement and internship opportunities
No appropriate basic amenities occasionally, like a good working fan , a study chair/table etc especially during exam times.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum offers a well structured knowledge on how the society works and what goes behind the smooth functioning of the same. The very aspect of the basic programming of the society is what influenced my decision to choose this course. After 3 years of deeply rooted learning of the society around you it molds you into more than just a citizen but also as a radicalist who will constantly look for opportunities to make the society better. The course could however provide more opportunities of fieldwork and practice-based learning throughout the course to ensure more efficient knowledge instilled. The exams are not as difficult as one would anticipate. Since most concepts you are expected to cover are theories, if you are good at reading and remembering information you are good to go.

There are a lot of seminars for students who are trying for UPSC, CAT. The placement cell of our college is average

Dislikes

The classrooms of our college are not that organised. And sometimes our classes gets cancelled during the last moments.
There are no hostel services provided by the college

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you want to pursue psychology, sociology or economics then you must apply in Jesus and Mary college. As I am pursuing Sociology, in our exams we get 7 questions for 22 marks each and we have to attempt only 4 questions. The difficulty level of the course varies from semester to semester. We have 3 core subjects from which 1 core subject is always difficult and 1 is lenghty(in my opinion).

The scholarship cell.The non- teaching staff are not cooperative in the case of scholarships.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My subject is Ba.Hons.Sociology. The exams are quite hard mostly in art subjects people score only a maximum of 8.5 CGPA. Since it's the study about the society we can related to the current situations. This curriculum will help us a lot in being a good person and also changing the view about the society and also will help us to look at things scientifically. The faculty provided by the college is really good. They help us throughout the semester to understand the subject and to make it easy to study.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

The fee is structure is feasible. I belong to a middle class family, so it was pretty alright. But since our college is a semi govt one, the fees is slightly higher than the other A grade colleges in DU. But for those who belong to lower class families, it could be a little difficult for them.
