Hindu College: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 16 Reviews

Hindu College, part of Delhi University, is recognized for its high academic standards and efficient admission process, which involves a university-wide form and a merit-based cut-off system. The college boasts a highly qualified faculty, many holding or pursuing PhDs from prestigious institutions, maintaining a favorable faculty-to-student ratio of 3:50. The curriculum, designed by the DU panel, is manageable and relevant, with exams held in two semesters annually. Fees at Hindu College, a government-run institution, range from INR 10,000 to INR 20,000 per year, varying by course and with concessions for scheduled castes and tribes.

Though considered more expensive than other public institutions, the quality of education justifies the cost, with a notable return on investment as post-placement earnings often surpass the total fees over three years. Separate hostel fees are relatively high. The college offers robust placement and internship opportunities through its placement cell, DISHA, and internship cell, Abhyaas, with prominent companies like Google and Deloitte offering positions. The highest placement package is approximately 36.50 LPA, with an average of 10.40 LPA.

Internships offer stipends ranging from 8,000 to 25,000 INR. Although placements are not guaranteed, the college’s strong alumni network aids in job placement, and many students choose further studies. Scholarships and fee waivers are available based on merit, financial need, and disabilities. Total fees for three years are around 54,000 INR, with some courses costing about 22,000 INR annually for general category students. Examination fees are additional. Over 10 scholarships exist for visually challenged students, alongside private scholarships.

The Raj Bharva scholarship is awarded for exceptional performance, though some delays in fund disbursement have been reported.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Admission fees is what the first year fees will be and it won't be taken again and will be counted as your fees for first year and for all the respective years it'll have to be repaid at the start of each year which is approx ?22k which is subject to which category you belong to, ?22k is charged for general category student apart from that lab and examination fees are also there that are charged every semester as per the paper that you're giving in that semester and is respective to it. And there are also various scholarships schemes that are given by the college itself for example the Raj Bharva annual scholarship is given to few students with exemplary performance and consists a good prize amount.

The fee structure is quite affordable. It's just rs. 23000 for the whole year. We are also told that earlier the fee used to be even less than this but due to the coming of New education policy it had been slightly increased. The college provides us numerous scholarships and financial assistance. We regularly get this information on our official college groups. And if a person satisfies the criteria he can easily avail scholarship

Fees and Financial Aid:

After the admission process you will have to give admission fees which are around 17000–20000 and in this fees exam fees has not included you will have to give exam fees after the exam and it is generally 500–600 rupee. And college also provides many scholarships. So students can easily use that financial help. But after applying for scholarships it comes too late and that is a negative point.
