Hindu College: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 27 Reviews

Hindu College's Economics Honours course features a smooth admission process, starting with online registration in late May and a first cut-off list by June's end. Students noted efficient document verification and fee payment procedures, with an orientation session held on July 20. The college is renowned for its quality education and highly qualified faculty, most of whom hold Ph.D. degrees. However, the student-to-faculty ratio ranges from 40:1 to 70:1, which can pose challenges in grasping lessons.

Lectures for core subjects occur 20-25 times monthly, with 15-18 for electives, supplemented by regular assessments. The course fee is approximately INR 14,500, along with annual departmental fees of INR 700-800. Additionally, there are fees for online registration and semester exams. Placement opportunities are robust, with the DISHA Placement Cell and Abhyas Internship Cell connecting students to top recruiters like EY, Deloitte, and McKinsey. Around 70-90% of students secure placements, with packages ranging from 7 to 10.5 LPA on average, reaching up to 38 LPA for top offers.

Placements typically start after the 4th semester, with over 100 companies visiting annually. Internships offer stipends of 5-10k per month, covering roles in HR, Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and Consulting. Scholarships are available based on merit and financial need, with tuition fees for BA Economics (Hons) at approximately INR 17,000. Reserved category students receive significant fee reductions, with SC/ST students paying about INR 18,000. The college provides additional financial assistance through a Students Assistant Fund and specific awards like the Shri Bhisab Sarup Bansal Memorial.

Overall, Hindu College offers a comprehensive academic and professional development environment, with strong placement and internship support, complemented by financial aid options.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Total fees paid was around ?26,800 for a year. This is for unreserved category. It's lower for reserved section. I don't have clear idea about increasing fees. There are a lot of scholarships firstly for reserved section and then available for all the departments if perform well.

Fees and Financial Aid:

I became a laughing stock among my friends as when I told them that my fees is just 26000 or near by. DU, is the best university when it comes to affordability and even though after such a petty fees, SC/ST studnlents are given a fair amount of discount.

Fees and Financial Aid:

BA Economics is one of the crowdiest branch and still the fees is such a negligible amount. It is 26870 for me as I fall under general category. I don't know much about the fees of the other students but it is certainly lesser. However Hindu College has a tradition of providing prizes and scholarships to the top students of every stream. For our stream it's Shri Bhisab Sarup Bansal Memorial. Whoever wins it gets entire fees waiver.

Fees and Financial Aid:

I have joined the college this year and the fees for my course for general category is 30000. Hence I have paid 30000 but my classmates who are SC/ST students have paid around 18000. So almost a 40% scholarships is what they have availed. Affordability is next level as Hindu college is one of the best colleges in our country and to graduate from there by paying less than lakh, I don't think I could have asked for anymore.

Fees for Economic Hons is perhaps the highest in Hindu College and still it's just 26870 including tuition fee, library card fee and etc etc. This is for general category students like me otherwise for OBC SC/ST and EWS students it's like free of half of what we end up paying.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Hindu College is a Government college in north campus Delhi , since admission to such Delhi university colleges is done via a Commom Univercity Entrance Test (cuet) , the fees is comapritively on the lower end which makes it affordable , i am pursuing BA ECONOMICS HONS. for which i have paid ?30,000 for first year i.e 2 semesters , thier is no other extra fee payment to be done other than this , for the next 2 years we will be charged the same amount of money per year , one of my friend has opt for bcom hons and he has paid a fee of ?29,000 which is very close to what i paid so yess fees here is very affordable and do not cause any type of financial distress caused just by the college fee

Fees and Financial Aid:

Tution fee hike, to me, is not that alarming to me. As far as the regularity is concerned, it's happened once in 5-6 years and it's not a big one. The rate is pretty normal given the facilities we are able to find at our college. The complete cost of my education per year is around 30000. Scholarships are really well addressed at Hindu. There are help desks, people working throughout the year for all sorts of university and college scholarships. As far as campus employments are concerned,I'm a part of the Placement Cell and 180DC. The responsibilities do not take up more than 8 hours combined for both societies. While they do not pay us, there are regular reachable moments and learning moments that we go through which is great.
