The course curriculum has a reall wide range on the area it actually covers as biotechnology and biochemical engineering is a really vast area of education. The curriculm almost covers every aspect but as mentioned above everything is rushed so grasping may get a bit har. But if u are okay with it then it s perfect
Since I could not make up NEET, I took biotechnology which is related to biology. Student to teacher ratio is adjustable there are about 60 students in the class sometimes become unmanageable by the teacher. The quality of teachers is fair they are supportive and provide essential for us. Internal marks are from attendance and two internal examinations that will be conducted every month. these exams are easy and depend on the course. It is easy to pass the examination unless we study.
The faculty members were very good there are very friendly and faculty members graduated from almost all of IIT. Teaching methods were very very effective and the contacts please exam after 2 to 3 weeks so everyone can learn at their pace.
Course curriculum provided by KTU includes both chemical engineering core subjects and biotechnology subjects. Chemical engineering subjects are taught well with theories and problems. But the biotechnology subjects are taught not that well and quality of knowledge learned is less. Exam orientated teaching reduces the interest of students for the subjects. Guidance to the research is literally low. Major subjects discussed are microbiology, biochemistry, industrial biotechnology, tissue engineering, bioprocess engineering, bioprocess calculations, mass transfer, fluid dynamics, transport phenomena, process dynamics, and so on. The lab facilities required for a biotechnology subject is really important. But college provides poor lab facilities in the biotechnology department but there are a number of instruments in chemical engineering labs. Teachers in general are really encouraging and friendly. Subject orientated teaching with research guidance should be included in the curriculum.
Fee structure for merit seat is very feasible when compared to management seat. For merit seat fees for a year is 42000 per year and for management quota, it is 72000 per year. Tuition fees for merit seat is 35000 per year other 7000 is for college maintainance and festivities. Tuition fees for management is 6500o and other 7000 is for maintenance and festivities.
There are three schemes; government(35000), management(65000) and nri(100000). Per year As it is a govt college the fee is extremely feasible. As the fees is this low it is very affordable. There are also many scholarship schemes.
