Here’s a comparison between the two options- Parameters IIT Roorkee Civil IIT BHU Mechanical Average Package INR 18 LPA INR 21.95 LPA (around 80% students get placed) Top Recruiters on campus Larsen, Turbo, Tata, Sprinklr, Jio, L&T, Godrej, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Zepto, Google, Jaguar Land Rover. Amazon, American Express, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Google, ITC Ltd., Microsoft, Oracle, Paytm, etc. Research Facilities One of the best research facilities at the Civil Engineering Department of IIT Roorkee. Ample research opportunities and well-equipped laboratories. One important thing that my friends told me is that the Mechanical Engineering Department at IIT BHU is one of the strictest departments in India. It makes the students question their own potential. The department professors are very strict and the coursework is extremely rigorous. The students are given assignments and projects which they have to complete within a day. I would suggest you choose IIT Roorkee Civil as it offers the same facilities and placements as IIT BHU Mechanical. Ques. What is the average package of ECE at IIT Roorkee?

Ans. Being one of the oldest and top IITs, IIT Roorkee boasts an excellent placement scenario with many top companies visiting the campus. This year too, the entire batch got placed in their 4th year. Some students even got 2-3 job offers. Many seniors were given PPOs while doing their internships. Nutanix offered job roles to many students. The highest international salary package stood at 1.3 CPA whereas the highest domestic salary package offered was 60 LPA. The lowest salary package offered ranged between 8 LPA - 9 LPA.  A number of big firms made it to the placements like  Microsoft Google Nutanix Adobe DE Shaw JP Morgan Goldman Sachs The most common role offered was that of an SDE. Ques. Which branch should I choose: B.Tech (Electrical Engineering) in IIT Roorkee or Dual Degree (Electrical Engineering) in IIT Kharaghpur?

Ans. According to me, B.Tech (Electrical engineering) from IIT Roorkee is a better option due to the following reasons: B.Tech electrical engineering is a 4 year program while dual degree (electrical engineering) is a five year program. This means that choosing IIT Roorkee will help you enter the workforce earlier. The B.Tech curriculum focuses equally on theoretical and practical learning. This will prepare you for industry roles.  On the other hand, the dual degree curriculum gives more importance to research and specialisation in electrical engineering. Here are the 2023 placement figures for IIT Roorkee and IIT KGP: Parameters IIT KGP (Phase-I) IIT Roorkee Highest Package INR 2.6 CPA INR 1.3 CPA (Highest International- INR 1.06 CPA) Top Recruiters (2024) OLA, OneByZero, SecPod, SIRION LABS, TCS Research, and others. American Express, Barclays, Chegg Inc, Flipkart, Google, Microsoft, Myntra, and more. Unfortunately, the branch-wise placements are not available for either of these IITs.  I would recommend you choose B.Tech Electrical at IIT Roorkee over Dual Degree in Electrical at IIT KGP due to the above reasons. Read more

Ques. What is the average package of IIT Roorkee mechanical (B.Tech) graduate?

Ans. IIT Roorkee Placements 2023 is still ongoing and hasn’t been concluded yet. The highest domestic CTC was recorded at INR 1.3 CPA while the highest domestic CTC was recorded at INR 1.06 CPA. Students revived more than 500 offers and around 63 recruiters visited the campus. IIT Roorkee does not release branch-wise placements but around 85% of the entire batch of every branch gets placed with preferred branches like CSE and ECE having a placement rate of around 98-100%.  Coming to Mechanical, the highest CTC stood at INR 97 LPA while the average core package stood at INR 14 LPA. The lowest package offered by a non-core company was recorded at INR 17 LPA. Top recruiting companies are  Amazon Google Goldman Sachs Microsoft Almost 60% of students got internships in this branch.Read more

Ans. During the 2023 placements,76.98% students of Civil engineering got placed from IIT BHU. The highest CTC recorded was INR 1.15 CPA.The median package was INR 15.75 LPA, and the average package was INR 19.09 LPA. As for IIT Roorkee, 84% civil students got placed and the highest package was recorded at INR 1.3 CPA. The table represents the branch-wise statistics of IIT BHU and IIT Roorkee 2023 Civil placements: College Placement Percentage Median Package Average Package Highest Package IIT BHU 76.98% INR 15.75 LPA INR 19.09 LPA INR 1.15 CPA IIT ROORKEE 84% - - INR 1.3 CPA Both IIT BHU and IIT Roorkee offer good placements to the students of Civil Engineering branch. Ans. No, you will not get CSE in NIT Trichy with a 10000 JEE main rank. But you will get to pursue CSE from NIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur, etc. Your rank is quite good but it will not be enough to get admitted to NIT Trichy. However, you might get admitted to other branches in NIT Trichy such as Production, ICE, MME, etc. You can also prepare for JEE Advanced and try your luck with the IITs. Do not lose hope because NIT Tricbhy is not the only best institute in the country to pursue CSE. Also, CSE is not the only course that will lead you to a successful path. There are many other colleges and many other courses that are equally good. Research and take your time. You will surely do great. All the best!Read more

Ans. If you are a general candidate, then you would need to score 99.86 percentile to get computer science at NIT Trichy. If you are a reserved category student or you belong to the home state quota then you will need a 99.54 percentile to secure a seat at NIT Trichy.  NIT Trichy is one of the highest ranking among the NITs and is even considered far more reputed and better than the newer IITs. The CSE department for NIT Trichy is famous and is in high demand among the students. This is because the CSE department of NIT Trichy is quite old and the faculty is excellent. Ans. CSE at top NITs is a far better option. Among the NITS, I would suggest you choose NIT Trichy. The CSE department of NIT Trichy is better than other NITs. The department is old and the curriculum is at par with the top IITs. The faculty is experienced and will guide you throughout the four years of your college. You will get hands-on learning because of the multiple practical projects that are given to the students. The campus of NIT Trichy is just as amazing. You will have hostel facilities as well. Each year the top companies visit our college to recruit the students. The CSE department is one of the departments that get the highest packages. Companies such as Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw, Morgan Stanley, etc. are the major recruiters that take part in the placement drive. My brother was in the CSE branch of NIT Trichy and based on his experience, here are a few pointers: The professors are extremely learned and experienced and impart quality education The relative grading system establishes peer pressure, and as a result, there is tough competition among the students  IIT Roorkee is well known for its rich coding culture that is promoted by student-driven and institute funded clubs. These clubs give you additional knowledge on web designing, App development, and game development that might be useful later in The CSE department is one of the most coveted branches, and being a part of one will inculcate a sense of privilege. The hostel and campus life is decent with all necessary amenities. A total of 5 fests are held throughout the year and are totally funded and organized by the institute. The institute is located in an area that helps you explore nearby tourist spots like Pondicherry and Ooty. You won’t ever regret choosing NIT CSE.Read more
