There is a dedicated RPC, which is student elected that approaches law chambers and firms for internships. Beyond that, the stipends of such internships vary from 5000 to 20000. Further, the students can always independently approach any organisation for internships.
Big firms like Luthra, SAM, CAM, Trilegal, JSA, AZB, Economic Law Practises recruit students from NUJS in the fourth year itself. Students also prepare and sit for elite exams like civil services and judicial services. Some students go abroad for pursuing higher studies with or without the aid of scholarships.
As I mentioned earlier, WBNUJS' has a huge alumni base. Students from our university are working in almost every top tier law firms situated in India. So all the best law firms come to recruit fresh graduates during the recruitment weeks generally held in the month of March every year.
I have interned with a lawyer practicing in the High Court of Calcutta. Works were related to drafting notices, contacting clients and researching on case laws. I did not get stipend but got to know many things about litigation which will help me in the long run.
Big law firms both within and outside the country recruit students from NUJS. Some big names are SAM, CAM, L&L and AZB. Some students take up judicial services and civil services as career choices. Most of fresh graduates also go abroad for doing LLM programs in prestigious institutions like Oxford, Yale, Columbia and Cambridge.
I have interned at L&L partners, Mumbai. It is a corporate law firm. I stayed with some of my friends in a PG. I got stipend.
Many of graduates from NUJS have started their own startups. Some of them are Lawctopus, Lawsikho, Superlawyer et cetera. Others have excelled in corporate world. Also, many seniors have cleared the judiciary and civil examinations. So one does not face difficulties in making a career after graduating from NUJS. Best law firms in India come to our college during the placement weeks. Luthra, SAM, AZB, Trilegal are frequent recruiters.
There is no dearth of opportunities for students graduating from NUJS. Many students choose litigation, judicial services, civil services. Furthermore, top tier law firms like Khaitan, L&L, SAM, CAM et cetera recruit students after 4th year.
The most eminent law firms visit our campus like Amarchand Mangaldas and many such firms. Our placement committee performs really very good and we had 100% placement last to last year.
Many students get PPOs right after 4th year. PPOs are generally placement offers given to students who get it through internships. Apart from it many top level law firms come to our college on Day Zero for recruitment. Big names in law firm circle like Luthra and Luthra, AZB, Amarchand Mangaldas are frequent recruiters from NUJS.
NLU Kolkata is ranked higher than NLU Jodhpur. NLU Kolkata has been given rank #4 by NIRF 2023 Ranking: Law. NLU Jodhpur is not listed in the 2023 ranking, but it was given the position #10 in 2022 ranking.

Both of these institutions are national law universities, but NLU Kolkata is ranked higher by NIRF (which is a national ranking framework by the Ministry of Education, Government of India).
