- First Selection List for admission to PhD courses has been released on Nov 13, 2024 by Sikkim University. Check the list here. Shortlisted candidates must pay the fees through the Samarth Portal (cusadmission.samarth.edu.in) from Nov 14 to Nov 15. Further, document verification for such candidates will be held at the university on Nov 25 & Nov 26, and the classes will commence from Nov 27, 2024.
Sikkim University offers high-quality education in various streams such as Humanities & Social Science, Science, Accounting & Commerce, Business & Management Studies, Mass Communication & Media Law, and Hospitality & Travel in UG, PG and Ph.D. levels. A weightage of 10% will be awarded to the registered students of Sikkim University for the purpose of preparation of the merit list of UG courses. Such candidates are required to enter the university registration number already awarded to them. One seat shall be awarded in each department in UG and PG courses on a supernumerary basis to University employees and their wards. Around 10% of seats are reserved for foreign candidates on a supernumerary basis in UG and PG programs.
Admission to Sikkim University is based on CUET conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). For admission to all courses in UG and PG, Central Admission Test (CAT) is conducted at eight venues. MBA admissions are based on CAT or MAT or CMAT scores along with scores in a bachelor’s degree. For Ph.D. a written examination and personal interview are compulsory. Ph.D admission is based on the performance of the candidates in the written test and interview.

Common University Entrance Test (CUET)
All the applicants who have applied for any UG or PG course should appear in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by the University which is the admission criteria for UG and PG courses.
- The admit card will be released on the official website after submitting the application form.
- The duration of examination is 1 hour and the examination will be conducted for 100 marks. Candidates need to secure 50% marks to qualify in CUET.
- The test was held at eight venues namely Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna, Siliguri, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Gangtok, Namchi and Geyzing.

- Candidates should visit the official website of the university and fill in the application form
- After filling the application form, candidates need to pay the application fee which is INR 1000 for general category students and INR 500 for Reserved category students.
- After payment of application fees, submit the application form
- Admit card for CAT (for UG, PG) and written test (for M.Phil and PhD) will be published in the official website of the University
- The merit list of the candidates who have qualified CAT and written test will be published in University website
- The selected candidates need to report to the University campus to block their seats and proceed further with admission process.

Sikkim University Scholarships
The university provides merit-cum-means scholarship to the needy and meritorious students. Students who have scored 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) and have annual family income less than INR 60,000 are eligible for this scholarship.
The quantum of scholarship being offered is as follows :
- Fellowship : INR 3,000 per month
- Free-ship : Full tuition and laboratory fee waiver
- Half-sheep : 50% tuition fee and laboratory fee waiver

- Teaching method is very good but some teachers are not serious and doesn’t take class but few teachers they are very much concern for our studies.
- No i,am not engaged in any college activities because there are more than a thousand students they are already there
Dislikes
- I don’t like the college washroom because its very dirt and no body maintains it
- Some teaching methods of teacher not experienced also
Admission:
I choose this college at least this one is better than other i have seen in my state because only in this college we have varieties of subjects we can choose from humanities to science commerce and botany psychology but in other college there is only and or two streams and they have no option they have to study. The admission provision are also easy because the name of the students gets college according to the percentage of class 12 those who score more than 65 only they can opt here

- Faculties who are DU and JNU graduates and all have completed their PHd. The mentor we get for dissertation during the final semesters is beneficial for the students.
- The couse also include a subject of Remte Sensing and GIS.
Dislikes
- The rented campus on the highway area in the town.
- The new Sikkim University campus is being build in Yangyang South Sikkim.
Admission:
I applied to this particular course because only Sikkim University provided Masters of Arts in Geography all over Sikkim during the year 2019. The admission process was a written entrance , but as of now CUET is mandatory for admission to UG and PG couses in Sikkim University

- I like the faculty of our college, they are highly qualified and excellent in teaching.
- The library because it offers a lot of books which we can use.
Dislikes
- The washroom of our college is not hygienic.
- The college compound is also not that clean in some places.
Admission:
I choose this college because it offered the course I wanted to pursue. It also is affordable for me and family because it is handled by government so I only need to worry about my domestic expenses. Students documents and class 12 % are required for the eligibility to pursue this college.

- Huge Infrastructure of the campus including various ways to refresh yourself during free time
- Common room for boys and girls to play games like table tennis, chess,carrom board.
Dislikes
- Really unhygienic washroom no maintenance at all
- Searing capacity in cafeteria was less as compared to the number of students

I applied to two colleges in sikkm i.e Nar bahadur bhandari degree college and Burtuk govt college. No i did not get rejection on either of the college. The admission process is really simple as we have to have 60+ in class 12 in order to get admission in this college.

- Big campus and great surroundings (lovely college located in the centrw of the city
- Proper guards situated in entrance resulting in better security towards the students
Dislikes
- Unhygenic washroom really dirty and full of smell that could lead to various harmful diseases
- No ambulance in the initial year but as an ancident happened the ambulance was provided
Admission:
I choose this college beacause it is one of the best college in sikkim and is a reputed college among the other colleges and is also located in the heart of the city. I did not apply to other college i only applied to this college,as it was far from my house and it had been an amazing experience living far from home. I had a lot of exerience living all by myself,this helped me to understand how to live in a society, about what types of people you face. Admission process is very simple we just need 60% or above in class 12 to secure a seat in this college. And if we have certificate of identification (COI) then it is very easy and simple to get your name in the merit list of the college. We did not have to appear for entrance exams but the 2022 batch had to appear for the entrance exams inorder to get admission in this college.

- The college is known to be number 1 government college around sikkim and it is very old college and know by everyone..... Due to old it need to be maintain and reconstust it like

This college is known as number 1 government college in sikkim and not everyone gets opportunity to study in this university and i am the one who got chance to study in this university so i would love to study in this university

- This college is so affordable and budget-friendly.
- This college is affiliated with Central University
Dislikes
- The hostel facility is limited and less people can take the facility.
- The faculty-to-student relationship is not so good.
Admission:
I also applied at Sikkim Government College, Burtuk and got selected there. But I had choosen this college as this college is nearby my locality and is also easily feasible for us. The admission process was easy and it was based on marks rather than any entrance exam.
Likes
- The infrastructure and the collage facilities who are always ready to help every student of every department they belong of each subject
Dislikes
- The condition of the toilet and surrounding area is very dirty need a special attention to clean that area
Admission:
Firstly the Tadong collage is the heart of all the Government collage been running in the entire state of sikkim because of the strategic location and by seeing the convenience of the people and students in and around the entire state. Second reason maybe due to the good faculty and the environment and also due to the more options given for the students as we can see they are more than 10 department in the college which includes Geograph department ,political science department, sociology department ,history department IT Department and many more
Likes
- Cheap and best specially good for financially weak students
- Friendly environment and teachers are always willing to help
Dislikes
- Shortage of sport equipment and too much study pressure
- Least facility,and shortage of MPH hall in collage
Admission:
I didn't apply in many colleges since I missed my jee main enterence exam but i did appear for CUET exam through CUET I had apply for many colleges but I took addmision here and here no more criteria is required to get addmision
Likes
- The fees structure is most reasonable here.
- The facility we are getting for such a low cost.
Dislikes
- The campus is not so big and have to manage in chaios.
- The faculty-to-student relationship is not nicely built.
Admission:
I have applied at Sikkim Government College, Kamrang. But I went to Sikkim University because OF the specific subject I wanted to choose. The admission process was not so hard and admission cell was also very polite.

Sikkim Univesity has published the list of students that are eligible to take the Ph.D Entrance test on its official website. The university will release the entrance test dates for the respective courses shortly.
