This particular course if good for the students who want to make their career in Instrumentation and Control field. The course is more about sensors and semiconductors and i have keen interest in this particular domain that's why i have chosen this particular course. There is atleast one faculty over 30 students and whole branch is divided into different subgroups for smooth flow of academics. All the teachers are PHD holders from a premium institutes like IITs,NITs,IIITs etc. Its not difficult for someone to crack the semester exams if he/she study on regular basis.

Course Curriculum: The course curriculum for the Electronics and Instrumentation Control branch at Thapar University is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in electronics, instrumentation, and control systems. The curriculum includes theoretical and practical courses, laboratory work, and projects to help students develop their skills and knowledge in the field. The curriculum is regularly updated to keep up with the latest trends and advancements in the field. Faculty Members: Thapar University has a highly qualified and experienced faculty for the Electronics and Instrumentation Control branch. The faculty members hold doctoral degrees from reputed institutes and have extensive research and teaching experience. The faculty-student ratio is also good, with one faculty member for every 10-15 students. Teaching Method: The faculty at Thapar University uses a combination of traditional teaching methods and modern teaching tools to engage students and help them learn.
I am doing BE in EIC (Electronics Instrumentation & Control), and the course curriculum is good as it is set according to the need of the time. I chose this course because this branch of engineering studies the measurement and control of process variables , and design and implementation of systems that incorporate them. Choosing EIC pays off well as the placement of TIET is good. The faculty: student ratio of lectures is 1:120 and for practicals 1:30. All the faculty of TIET are well qualified and studied at IITs or abroad. They mainly are doctors in their respective fields and teach in the most effective ways using projectors and different visual methods. They clear all the doubts of students and help them in every way possible. The exam papers are difficult in ESTs and easy for MSTs and always take place timely.
Students can get pre-placement offers from the 4th sem onwards and can apply for internships in the first year also The highest package was offered by Microsoft for 51 lakh Multiple offers are being made by a single company My plans after getting a degree are yet to be decided

Students became eligible for placement after 3rd year. Google, Adobe, de shaw, L&T, Schneider, Amazon etc visit campus The highest package was 42 lacs and the median package is 8.1 lacs. More than 90% get placed.
Placements begin in the 3rd year as companies come from time to time. But actual placements begin at the end of 3rd year and the placement session is pretty hectic but most of the students get placed at the end of placements. But as student strength is increasing there is a huge possibility of strong competition during placemetts in the future.
There is a huge opportunity for students in campus placements. Many reputed companies visit the campus for recruiting students for various job roles. And many students are offered very high annual packages. The Placement Cell of the institute is very helpful and supportive. They try their best to groom the students and make them ready for placements.
Good brand name, placements and vast opportunity for all over development during the course. Even though the fee is little bit on the higher side but the environment they provide is worth the fees. There are N numbers of society and clubs which help a person to develop and interact with the outer world people instead of campus life.
Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.
Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.
However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.
Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.
Thapar University offers a good MCA program. The institute has a brilliant MCA faculty base. It offers good learning resources, and laboratory facilities to meet the requirement of students.
Thapar University placement highlights show the average CTC offered to MCA students is around INR 7 LPA. While the highest CTC offered is around INR 8 LPA. TCS, Infosys, and Fidelity are among the major recruiters in the placement drive.
