Mostly in 3rd-year students start to get interned and get placements by the end of 4th year. Many companies visit here like Microsoft, Wipro, cisko, google, etc and offer many offers. One of the highest packages in 2020 was offered for 44 LPA and the average package is 6-7 LPA. Most of the students get placements on campus. I also want to get on-campus placements and achieve great heights.
From the 7th semester onwards students are eligible for placements, in 2020 around 100 companies appeared for placements, and the major offered profile during placement is Software developer. The highest package was 35LPA and the average was 8LPA. from COE branch 100% placement, ECE brach 70 % placement, and other non-circuit branches 30 % placement. My plan after the degree is to go for Foreign education.
Students are eligible after 5 semesters for placements. Companies has come 300+ College made offers about 1800+. The highest package is 41 LPA. The average package is 8 LPA. They offer profiles like SDE, Data Analysts etc. The percentage of students getting placed is 76%.
In seventh semester students become eligible for campus placements while you can do internships in previous semesters. Microsoft-7 Amazon-12 TCS-420 Wipro-300 Zomato-8 The highest package is by Microsoft which is 42 LPA and the average package is around six to seven Lacs. The students get placed according to the skills and branch they are in. For computers, almost ninety percent get placed. After getting a degree I will be in some MNC or will start my own venture.
This college was one of the oldest & best among the Private Institute for Engg. also even better than many NITs. All the companies that go to IITs for placements comes to Thapar aswell, so placement was a huge aspect while choosing thapar.(But now placements have become just IT or analyst job hardly any core branches other than for computer science students come so we are just left with either to learn coding or become an analyst. Infact for ece too hardly 2-3 core company came in 2018)The admission process is simple we have to fill in there forms first and then according to our mains marks we are alloted our branches (Now the university is considering academic 12th class percentage aswell but in 2015 only JEE mains score was considered)The college has an amazing campus you'll have the time of your life, the hefty amount of money they take from us is properly utilized because the infrastructure is amazing esp for the computer science department. The drawback in this university is that too much focus is given to the computer department (because mostly the companies that pay huge salaries are software based companies and mostly require computer background) that other branches are almost neglected ( excluding a few like any branch having computer in it or may be a few elecronics batches)
I have heard a lot about this college so after not getting any IIT/NIT i decided to join this college.Placement is good as compared to other private colleges and campus is also very big. Initially i took CSE then i chose ECE in 2nd year.
Oncampus placements percentage is high to 80% with an average of 7 lacs per anum Teachers are good and co-operative and they have lot of cultural/technical fests which give a wide oppurtunity to interact with seniors and make your comtacts
Because this was top college according to my rank. Also I found that placements in this college was good and it has a very strong alumini network. One thing lagging is enterpreneurship department for startups but rest is good.
Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.
Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.
However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.
Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.
Thapar University offers a good MCA program. The institute has a brilliant MCA faculty base. It offers good learning resources, and laboratory facilities to meet the requirement of students.
Thapar University placement highlights show the average CTC offered to MCA students is around INR 7 LPA. While the highest CTC offered is around INR 8 LPA. TCS, Infosys, and Fidelity are among the major recruiters in the placement drive.
