- JEE Main 2025 exam dates have been announced for the January Session. The exam is scheduled from January 22 to January 31, 2025. Students seeking admission to B.Tech/ B.Arch/ B.Planning courses can apply online through the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The last date to apply is November 22, 2024. Only the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main 2025 qualified candidates will be eligible to sit for JEE Advanced 2025 (conducted for engineering admission to IITs).
IIT Ropar allows admission for all the UG & PG courses based on the national-level entrance tests. IIT Ropar offers BTech at the UG level which is the most sought-after course of the institute. The institute allows admission to its BTech program through the JEE Mains followed by the JEE Advanced Exam. The JEE-qualified candidates are required to register themselves for the JoSAA counselling for the seat allocation process.
Apart from the flagship BTech program, IIT Ropar also offers MTech, and MSc programs at the PG level. Candidates have to appear for the GATE and IIT JAM entrance examinations for the MTech, and MSc programs respectively. On clearing the entrance tests, students will have to register for the respective counselling sessions such as COAP and JAM to reserve a seat at the institute. Also, IIT Ropar offers a PhD program at the doctoral level in 11 different departments. Candidates will be allowed PhD admission through the GATE/ CSIR/ UGC NET/ DST INSPIRE/ JEST/ NB HM or any other national fellowship followed by a written test and a personal interview conducted by the institute.

- Our college has a little underdeveloped campus. Although the buildings that are made are pretty well. But things like indoor court are missing. But it has been said that it will be made available soon
- The investment in clubs is a little less i think. Our colleges primary focus is on academics

To take admission in this college you will need to crack jee advanced with a decent enough rank. For cs vranch in general category the cutoff was about 2000 rank. I chose this college over other as it is closer to my hometown(mohali) and as my teachers told me it had a good reputition for computer science branch

- The hostels are quite good and well maintained.
- The overall campus is large. It provides a very spacious environment.
Dislikes
- The mess food is not quite good as expected.
- There is no dedicated shop for dairy products.
Admission:
I got this college through JoSAA Counselling and there is a rule that if you get any seat in IIT in the last round of JoSAA Counselling you either accept it or you will never get any seat in IIT in the future. So, I took a seat in IIT Ropar.

I not applied in any instution because when I know that IIT ropar is very great and too much good institute. Its location is also very great.It is located near satluj river and view around this institute is also great .It is situated near hills and mountain view .

I applied to iit gandhinagar electrical engineering and got rejected as my jee advanced rank was not as par as required to take the course.the admission process of our college is based on an examination called jee advanced and if u get a good rank and pass that examination u can enter our college.i also applied for iit hyd,iit jodhpur etc in which I have got an admission in another branch as I said earlier as I like the electrical engineering branch I joined iit ropar .or college might be worst in sports in comparison to other iits but they are always better than other iits in reasearch orientation side

IIT Ropar was my first preference whule applying according to my rank. No, did not receive rejection elsewhere. Students have to clear JEE mains, and then clear JEE advanced. They can then apply for a seat here via the JOSAA counselling

Yes, students are allowed to change the branch at IIT Ropar. But, they can change the branch at the end of the first year only, they are not allowed to change the branch in the mid of the second or third year. Apart from that, students should satisfy various criteria such as CGPA for GEN / OBC category students: - >7.50. CGPA for SC / ST / PD category students: - > 6.50.
For the B.tech course, the total intake is 324 at IIT Ropar. This is the flagship course of this institute. Apart from that, the admission depends on the valid scores for JEE Advanced exam. The total course fee is Rs 9.44 Lacs.
