First-aid facilities are also given at all sport tournaments. Apart from regular health check-ups, the university also has emergency medical services including an ambulance and blood donor arrangement. Recently, NEHU has also started conducting bio-chemical tests such as blood and urine analysis.

What is the role of Dr. Ambedkar Centre for Excellence at NEHU?

Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence at NEHU provides free coaching for civil service examinations for SC/OBC candidates. The course fees will be paid by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, and the Government of India. Alongside, a stipend of INR 4000 p.m. is given to all the students enrolled in the course and INR 15,000 shall be provided to all the successful students.

Does NEHU provide financial support to its students?

NEHU provides financial support to poor and deserving students under its Students Aid Fund. The university helps such students in the payment of tuition fees, examination fees, and to meet the expenses of hostel, textbooks, stationery, clothes, and medical emergencies. NEHU also grants free loans to deserving students and to meet other genuine needs of such students.

Where is NEHUs computer centre situated?

NEHUs computer centre is situated in the university campus in Umshing Mawkynroh, Shillong, Meghalaya. This computer centre was brought into existence in 1987. Students and faculty members of NEHU use the computer system for research purposes and for computer education. Recently, SULEKAR High Performance Clusters have been installed with a centralised high computing processing facility, which is accessible by all the departments within the NEHU campus.

Dislikes

Food inside the campus are expensive, Restaurant and other hotels
Sometimes Transportation problem inside the campus ,
Placements need to be improved , The placements are too average

Some companies which visit for placements are Amazon, Infosys, TLC, There will be a major project in final year which is the most important project, some small projects will be coming from 3rd yr , Assignments and small quiz are conducted every semester

girls to boy ratio is around 60:40, Campus is fully socially interactive lot of free space are available inside the campus to roam around, Greenery is most attractive part of campus. Shillong campus of NEHU is known for its natural beauty.
Interaction with faculty and seniors are very friendly, Behaviors of non teaching and teaching staffs are really good. Students union is there to deal with any kind of problem academically or non academically.
Sports facility are well facilated inside campus. Almost every sports and playground is available such as football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, running track, archery ....etc. SAI ( sports authority of india ) is available inside the campus.

Dislikes

Lab equipments, infrastructure are too old and mostly non working.
too much distraction, shillong itself is garden of natural beauty so there is so many things to distract you from studies
faculties are not that well expirenced, you cant expect topics to be clear in class. Mostly professors are old and no new recruitment.

Internships Opportunities:

NEHU has seen placements in varios companies including intellipaat,GLA university, Dalima cement bharat ltd, and santacruz telemarketing services private limited. roles offered have included positions with salaries ranging from 7.25 LPA to 10.8 LPA. I am not aware of many projects but one of the notable one is GDG ( google developers group ) from google.

What a guy a student said about St. Anthony’s college.

Likes

The things i liked about my college is that i met a lot of different people from different backgrounds. The students in the college are very talented. About the the college itself, i really love our campus. It is well structured.
The hygiene is properly maintained and there are ample amount of sitting space where students can sit and have talks and fun with there classmates and friends. There are three different canteens as well. Where you get good food with affordable price.
I also love the faculty of the college. The HOD of my department is really humble and very talented. He is a great teacher. In my department there is a proper music studio where we can jam and have a good amount of music instruments in good condition

Dislikes

One of the thing i dislike is the timings of the classes. For eg i have one class at 9’o clock then another class at 1.30. The time in between is really tiring because we don’t have anything specific to do.
There are not many extra events in the college as such rather than the college week which happens once a year. Students in my department really lack the opportunity for showcasing there talent.

The details for the intership is that St. Anthony's college offer various internship opportunities and career oriented programs to enhance student employability including placements in well known hotels and companies. There are many internship opportunities like library internships, hospitality internships, general placements in like NIIT, google, TCS, leading insurance companies and healthcare companies.

I like the fact that we have shift. Like if you’re a morning person then you can chose the morning class and if you don’t like getting up in morning then you can chose day shift.
The teaching staff are really good in teaching and they give their best to help the students.
They give as many project, presentations and work to do in group that help us making friend and as well as building our confidence and speaking ability in front of many people.

Dislikes

I don’t like our college program system. The way they celebrate the program I just don’t like it because the music quality a very poor except the college week,

Internships Opportunities:

In the first 4 sem we don't get opportunities for the internship but in the 5th sem and 6th sem we get the opportunity for the internship and jobs. We even have couriers consulting facilities where we can go from the first sem onwards they guide us in pursuing our goals.

There's a sufficient facilities for students to learn on their own way
The teaching faculty is also very friendly with students and they co-operate more with us
The services in the college improving day by day and has a lot of effects to achivement of our dreams and the overall development of the campus makes us more motivated

Dislikes

They should be focus more on the improvement of attendance, where i can see in some of the classes some teachers are entering without any attendance sheet
The necessary information are supposed to be passed to the students as fast as possible

Internships Opportunities:

The companies like red hat, and i didn't remember some name but there's a lot of company who has already offered in the past years. There are projects implemented by council members and other clubs to clarify the tasks

University life for students

Likes

I like the most about sports facilities and infrastructure which provides by the university which is so good for all.
I also the teaching staff of the university all are helpful to the students and the non teaching staff all people are so kind to each other
One of the best thing in university is about hostel life which is free to enjoy whatever the dj dance and all the festival all' are good

Dislikes

Most of the dislikes things i have saw is the condition of the road which is so bad right now.
I dislikes mostly about the shop and restaurant which is so expensive for me to buy
I also dislikes the behaviour of the Vice Chancellor of the university the man who don't care about the students learning and all the infrastructure and development of the university and the students

Placement Experience:

The university also have placement apportunity if not everyone gets also. The final semester students use to get the placement which is around 3.80LPA. Some of the company that visited like Amazon,Dell, Indian army , Accenture and so on and so fall. Most of the placement get by the excellent students and Excel in the study most of them are science students from B.tech and all. My plan after my degree is going to be tough but I will appear for competitive exams.

North Eastern hill University is the very much affordable and nice university for students.

Likes

Teacher staffs are very helpful,they provide verry good knowledge and explain as well as.
There are library in where different different course related books and knowledgeable books are available.
There are bus services available. Strudents can manage classes at time because of the buses.

Dislikes

There are no cctv cameras in the campus.
There are no inverters in hostels that's why sometimes we have to face difficulty

Internships Opportunities:

University provides some internship opportunities to students. They have to apply for the internships and have to got signed from HOD and office staffs. If they signed we can apply for the internships in any company or hospitals.

The college location is very beautiful, it has functioning department as well as hospital with both IPD and OPD services. Some department are lagging in faculty but overall it is managable
The interaction with teachers, seniors and juniors is quite enjoyable, we tend to learn alot from them. Hostel boarders enjoy more social interaction.
The faculty are well trained and experienced, there are no placement facilities, infrastructure is overall good.

Dislikes

Insufficient teachers, lack of extracurricular activities.
Low patient flow in hospital, some department provides with no clinical classes
Internship is for few days in some departments in few hospitals

Internships Opportunities:

A stipend of 23,500 is paid to interns working in the hospital. The students can also apply for various research projects under the ministry. Regular health camps are also held to help the students get more patient exposure

Teacher are good and other faculty members also very friendly and helpful us in every situation this is the best when we face some problems
Environment of the college campus is also so cool and we will get the library also and 24hr wifi facility
We willing get canteen and coffee corner inside the campus and sports complex, gym thats great

Dislikes

I expect about less fees in this college compare to other but because of nep our fees is higher than expected
At first this is only girls college so I came here and now it turns to be co edu
Gym in our college is little small and we can't get admission because of many people were applied

Internships Opportunities:

I don't know about this much yeah we will get internship in our 3rd year but Iam in 2yr so I don't know about companies or any other things. But I think this is added just this year because of nep other non neps course before our course did not get any opportunity for internship. I didn't hear about this

The college is very underrated yet functional environment fosters focused academic experience without unnecessary distractions.This simplificity makes the college feel more personal,ideal for students and faculty.
Professor are really approachable and supportive.

Dislikes

The college’s placement services are not as strong with fees internship and job placement for students also while classrooms are well equipped with basic tools,there could be more used of advanced technology.
One thing at college is that the food at canteen is really bad.plus does not have much variety of food.
Some students feel that the extracurricular activities are limited in our college.

Internships Opportunities:

Sankardev college offers internships through the placement services.However the opportunities generally include projects alligned with the course subject.Although there isn't a specific documentation available on precise companies.But students can always gain experience in local NGOS as startup.
