I'm pursuing civil engineering which deals with real-life problems related to construction, it provides a good opportunity to pursue government exams too. My exams are divided into two times one is mid-sem and the other is end-sem.

The Curriculum is relevant to the Gate syllabus, not entirely but it still covers a lot of the basics. The labs and elective subjects provide hands on experiences. The syllabus has space for improvement and can be updated but is still relevant and fairly moderate for students. The exams are held twice a semester, with a moderate to high level of difficulty.

civil engineering is the evergreen branch because the faculty of this branch is chill and supportive and the future govt scope of this branch i choose civil engineering N nit Hamirpur college focus on practical application more than the theoretical approaches if we will get more equipments then it will be good to approach for practical application exams is generally check your knowledge and teachers here is so good that if u closest to the passing marks they will pass u in examination

I choose civil engineering because i always get inspired from infrastructure marvels around the world and want to learn how they are made. Yes, in my college everything is there to get hands on experience with many internship opportunity. I think teaching can be improved by adding online recorded classes as a feature with 50% attendance policy. Every semester have 2 exam which happen every 2 months with moderate difficulty

I believe that the faculty is well versed with their areas of interests but the course curriculum is a bit outdated, I know that that many things don't change in civil engineering but the course structure can be altered a bit.
On the basis of academics, if a college has to be chosen between NIT Surathkal and NIT Hamirpur for a B. Tech civil engineering course, one should look at the different perspectives that are given below.
NIT Surathkal:
NIRF ranked NIT Surathkal as the 21st best engineering college in 2019. The college has an amazing faculty for civil engineering most of the teachers that are in NITSurathkal have acquired Ph.D. degrees and a minimum teaching average of 2 years. The admission to the BTech Civil program is through JEE Mains.
Placements:
NIT Hamirpur:
In the academic year 2019, NIRF was ranked as the 60th best engineering college in India. The BTech Civil Engineering admission is through JEE Mains. NIT Hamirpur has 9 Ph.D. scholars who are taking the classes. They give tutorial framed questions and the faculty also provides the best study materials.
Placements:
Therefore, in conclusion, in terms of syllabus, both these colleges have more or less the same course structure and merit system. If a choice has to be made between the two one can choose a college based on the factors that are given above.
My friends have been studying in both NIT Hamirpur and PEC Chandigarh and according to their first-hand experience, PEC Chandigarh holds an edge. Here’s why:

Overall, while both the colleges offer good education, NIT holds a big brand name. However, factors like location and opportunities come first when in such a dilemma. Also, as you are getting the same branch in both the colleges, choose PEC Chandigarh any day.
