Why is DTU ranked so low in the NIRF?

DTU, earlier known as DCE, has a rather obsolete curriculum and pedagogy. Despite that, it invites more than 450 recruiters every year. These companies are well aware of the excellent coding culture at DTU showcased through the student's online presence on top sites like HackerRank/HackerEarth/Codechef. So if you are a coding lover, DTU has opportunities at par with top institutes like IIITH, IITB, and BITS Pilani. However, rankings are done on various aspects including GO. Considering all the branches of DTU, it rightly deserves to be among the top ten due to its location. But NIRF ranks it poorly as it considers a variety of parameters like: TLR, Teaching, Learning, and Resources: DTU has very few approachable faculties thereby bringing down the ratings RPP, Research and Professional Practice: Recently, DTU has received funding so it’s slowly improving its research culture which earlier was non-existent. GO, Graduation Outcomes: DTU has a good graduation outcome almost comparable to IIT Bombay. OI, Outreach, and Inclusivity: This brought down the rankings miserably. So we can conclude that NIRF rankings are based on useless criteria and shouldn’t be considered to evaluate colleges worth and credibility.

Which ranks higher: NSIT, DTU, or an NIT?

It’s hard to determine the worth and credibility of these institutes just by looking at official rankings. So I will be taking into consideration some criteria Placements: The placement scenario and opportunities offered at all these institutes are equally good as similar companies visit for placements. Companies like Google and Facebook conduct an open test like APAC so students of all institutes get equal opportunities. Campus life: In terms of the campus and city life offered, my preference order would be DTU = NSIT > NIT. Being in Delhi, NSIT and DTU offer better opportunities and exposure. Delhi has it all, major corporate headquarters, the media, and top colleges like IIT-D and DU to compete with. Student pool: The peer group has a massive effect on you and helps you in determining your interests and activities and grooming your personality. The ranking of colleges depends solely on the type of crowd you are looking for. If you are from south India, you would prefer to join NIT- Trichy. So this aspect cannot be generalized at all. Campus: A dynamic college life is very important to break from occasional strenuous situations. In that aspect, NIT offers the best campus life followed by DTU and NSIT. Faculty: The faculty pool is better at NIT than at NSIT and DTU. NIT is a central government institute and has a better recruitment process so filtration is better. Alumni: Alumni network plays a big role in your institute’s reputation in the corporate sector and can help you financially with your startup idea. That being said, DTU and NIT Trichy have the best alumni network followed by other NITs and NSITs. It’s best to go for the college that is best suitable for you alone and not just because it has good rankings.

What is the ranking of DTU in India?

DTU is a government institute under the NCT Delhi. The institute has a wide range of branches like Production, Mechanical, Biotech, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, etc. These branches aren’t available in tier-2 colleges like NSIT and IIIT Delhi. The core branches have poor placement statistics which makes the NSIT and IIIT Delhi placements look better. Most students don't set placements as their goals after BTech these days but prefer appearing for competitive exams like CAT, GRE, GMAT, UPSC Exams, SSC Exams, GATE, etc. That being said, Delhi is the supreme location that offers excellent opportunities for coaching and preparations for these exams apart from great placements and campus life. I love the campus, it's huge it's beautiful and you'll love exploring the campus
You'll love the facilities there, sports societies events and many more things will attract every one

Dislikes

Faculties in electrical department is a bit scary, they are very strict for attendence... But you just have to be a good student they'll do nothing against you
It's very hard to make friends here if you are a girl.. it's been one year and I still can't find one

Internships Opportunities:

There are good opportunities for intership for students in their 3rd year .. and a little for 2nd year students.. you'll not able to find college internship in your 1st year.. as I just completed one year Idk about it much but I talked to seniors and it's pretty fine

Delhi Technological University Campus life

DTU has a strong placement record, with many top companies recruiting from the campus.
DTU host a variety of societies and fest providing a balance environment to academic and personal growth.

DTU still has this 75% attendance criteria for appearing the semester exams. which i don't like at all.

DTU provides different types if internship opportunites like research, academics, administration etc. and you will get great knowledege in doing internship in reseach with the professors of DTU because of many facutlies persuing their Phd in DTU you will get varity of research areas. And sometimes you will get some stipends from university or professors also.

Faculties in the university are very nice, supportive and very skilled. Their teaching style is awesome except some senior ones. In library also, you may get all the books required with your course.
Placement ratio is also good for DTU. Many famous MNCs like infosys visit here.

In labs, experiments are not demonstrated to the students. You are just given a manual and you have to perform the experiments on your own. No matters if you have covered the topic in your theory class or not.

Internship opportunities are comparatively less but are higher than other colleges of JAC Delhi counseling. The highest of 1.8 LPA stipend was awarded to a student. You need to score an 8+ CGPA if you want to appear for a maximum company interview but some companies allow students at 7 cgpa also.

Everything about DTU

The campus of DTU is very big and beautiful
DTU now has many food stalls and services for the students

The teaching staff is not very good. Students have to study themselves before every exams.
There are not much facilities for girls washrooms throughout the campus even though the campus is huge

DTU provides both summer and winter internships for its students. Students can reapply for it if they get qualified again. The stipend is around 3k/ month. Its called USIP internship and students have to work around 8-10 hrs/ week.

College is very huge in land area so much to explore. The environment, seniors, professors everything single thing is amazing. Freedom for everything most of the sports are available and tournament serves as opportunities.
The fests is a outstanding point when it comes to DTU.

There is nothing such like that but traveling inside campus sometimes causes pain in knees. So there should be a mini rickshaw for students and no fare.

Placement Experience:

Nearly 45% students gets placed (Civil engineering)in some renowned companies and organisations. students can apply for placements after 6th semester. highest package given till to this date is 1.2crore rupees. i plan on doing Mtech after this.

The best thing about dtu is the facilities the provide they provide.
The brand value of dtu is also the uper edge for the students because of the alumni network dru have. Dtu have such a huge no of passouts because it i established in 19s.

Dtu has charge high fee from students it like 2.3 lac which was quit high for some normal people.
Every Proffessor in dtu is highly qualified amny of them are froms iits and done phd in there specialized area but sone of professors fail to deliver the content to the students.

Internships are quit low in dtu there is only 5% students selected in total strength of student intake so internship is low but you can easily apply for off campus and and if ur cv was good definitely u can get a internship at a good company.

DTU: A college where dreams get into reality

The library is very good discipline is maintained it has activated amount of books for both curriculum as well as learning purposes
Fest crowd and college life is the best in this college

Curriculum is very outdated it as subjects like microprocessor in interfacing which are very outdated
Semester exams are very tough it's not easy to to pass and get good marks you have to study very thoroughly to good marks

Placements of DTU are very good. But in the recent years placements have fallen due to the recession going on. The average package here is about 18 lakh per annum while my branch engineering physics offers the median package of 800000 per anum the highest package offered was 24 lacs per annum when the lowest package offered was 3 lakhs per annum and the median was 7.5 lakhs approx 40% of a students gets placed on the campus and 20% gets of campus placements. My plans after getting the degree is to get a good job and contribute to the goodness of the society. Every good company like Amazon Facebook Flipkart Google Apple adobe come in our college to provide placement opportunities number of offers made by 40 out of every 100 students

Bachelor of Design - DTU

Delhi Technological University has one of the biggest campus in Delhi with many food and beverage stalls, wide and big sport grounds and open green spaces to hang out with your friends.
DTU is recognized for it's strong academic programs, be it engineering, design or economics.

DTU Main Campus is located in a non-developed area and hence connectivity for the day-scholars is difficult.
The college does not provide internships, although, students tend to make a WhatsApp group and share possible opportunities there.

Delhi Technological University has a good track of placements. Many students secure a good offer from reputed companies in India and abroad. Adobe, Google, Microsoft tend to come in search of talented designers. Apart from job opportunities, some students often opt for higher studies in India as well as abroad. Highest package was bagged by a design a student of 45LPA. The average package ranges from 9LPA-15LPA.

The method and indicators of the rankings vary and include bibliometrics, reputation, teaching, and international outlook. The ranking also includes the number of students placed with the good packages. The university reported that 1821 students were placed in this placement drive and received 1990 offers. A total of 2684 students from B.Tech, M.Tech & MBA courses participated in the placement drive. Which is better for BTech DTU, NSUT DU, IPU?

The first-year fee for Btech at DTU is INR 2.29 Lakhs, for 2^nd year is INR 2.37 Lakhs, for 3^rd year is INR 2.47 Lakhs, and for 4^th year is INR 2.67 Lakhs. DTU's highest package stood at INR 82.05 LPA (received by the B.Tech batch) & DTU's B.Tech (COE) average package stood at INR 23.70 LPA. NSUT fee is equivalent to the DTU’s Fee. The average package offered to NSUT is INR 16 LPA. The fee per year for the Btech course at DU is INR 2.16 Lakhs. The average package for B.Tech students at DU is around INR 13 and the highest package was INR 35LPA. The fee per year at the IPU is INR 1.31 Lakhs.
