Yes. A valid JEE Main 2026 Paper-I score is mandatory for B.Tech admission at DTU. No other engineering entrance exam is accepted. Admission is determined entirely by JEE Main rank through JAC Delhi counselling.

What is the eligibility for the Delhi quota in DTU B.Tech admission?

The Delhi quota covers candidates who appeared in Class 12 from a school located in NCT Delhi. Your home address does not determine eligibility. If your Class 12 school was in Delhi NCT, you qualify for the Delhi quota, which covers 85% of DTU B.Tech seats.

How many B.Tech seats and branches does DTU offer?

DTU offers 2,514 B.Tech seats across 19 specialisations. Approximately 2,137 seats are in the Delhi quota and 377 are in the All-India quota.

How many rounds does JAC Delhi counselling have for DTU B.Tech?

JAC Delhi 2026 ran four main counselling rounds followed by one Spot Round. Candidates could upgrade their allotment in each main round. The Spot Round fills remaining vacancies after Round 4 is completed.

Is work experience mandatory for MBA admission at DTU?

No. Work experience is not mandatory for DSM DTU MBA admission. Fresh graduates are eligible to apply. Relevant work experience may be evaluated positively during the Personal Interview stage but does not determine shortlisting.

Can final-year undergraduate students apply for DTU MBA?

Yes. Students appearing in their final year of graduation are eligible to apply for DSM DTU MBA through CMAC. Final admission is confirmed only after submitting the qualifying degree result showing the required minimum percentage (60% for GEN/OBC-NCL, 50% for SC/ST/PwD).

Does DTU offer any management quota or direct admission?

No. DTU does not offer a management quota or direct admission for any programme. All B.Tech seats are filled through JEE Main merit via JAC Delhi. M.Tech and MBA seats are filled through GATE and CMAC merit lists respectively.

What scholarships are available for DTU students?

Should I opt for DTU mechanical or IIIT Delhi CSE?

The choice depends on what matters the most to you.

If placements, faculty and research opportunities are your top most priority, choose IIIT Delhi CSE. In this respect, IIITD CSE beats DTU Mechanical by a large margin. But if you want the best of campus, college environment, cultural fests and brand name, DTU Mechanical is a much better choice.

I would personally recommend IIIT Delhi, as it offers top notch placements. But if you’re truly passionate about Mechanical, choose that branch. Do not take your interest for granted while choosing your branch/degree.

Are courses in DTU and NSIT flexible? Can students from lower branches study a minor in C.S. easily?

As an NSUT student, the new CBCS (choice based credit system) allows you to choose your fields of study. This makes for more flexible courses. Also, NSUT has an excellent coding environment which will help you for your minor in Computer Science. Many students over there pursue coding, despite being from a branch other than IT/COE.

In DTU, you will have electives starting from 5th semester.These are department and general electives. IIIT Delhi offers the most flexible courses. Other than some fixed category credits, all the subjects are choice based.

Thus, in terms of providing flexible courses, this is the order of preference- IIITD> NSUT>DTU.
